Losi Shocks

Post by bearrickster »

I thought I had seen it all when it comes to Losi? but it seems I missed more than I thought while away from the hobby, I just won this lot of shocks on E-Bay can any one tell me about the Blue and Gold shocks? The gold look silver in the pic but they are a light goldish color? and the blue two match and one is a lot darker, the pic isnt very good? I have never seen them before? Thanks

The color of the shocks confuses me a little bit because I can't tell if those are the gold bodies or the green bodies.

Losi came out with teflon coated bodies after the release of the jrx pro. They were green in color...similar to the ones that Associated had on their team car.

The pro SE had the black shocks, but losi also sold the gold hard body shocks. I remember seeing the bodies sold, but I don't recall ever seeing a shock kit or a car kit containing these shocks.

As for the blue, I've seen them around, but I assume that they were released after the XX...this is just before the "blue" craze.

Here's another piece of unknown history. The prototype long shocks (used on the jrx pro rears) were anodized in red. This was during the jrx2 days and were made available to the team drivers (and a select number of others). If I remember correctly, these were used with a longer rear shock tower and the 5 link. The fronts were still the standard short silver shocks.

I've been trying to find the red rears for a long time now, but I haven't seen them anywhere.

That's all I have on the subject....

Regards,
highwayracer

I don't recall seeing green Losi shocks, the teflon coated ones that I have from the Proformance kit era are goldish in color. At least to my tired old eyes. They are very similar in color to the current CR shocks, maybe a touch lighter. Any pictures of the greens?

I bought a set of the front short bodies in blue. Mainly to remove the blue to get the aluminum look, since the originals are a little hard to come by. Google the PN, you can still find some new hangin around. I have a pair of the gold front bodies if you are interested?
