- Schumacher Top Cat project -
Hi guys,
I finally got my Top Cat in the mail. This was the second car I owned when I was a kid and always wanted one since then. It is quite hard to find these days, I've been watching Ebay for months before this one showed up. I already have a brand new body for it! Do you remember the mess that car did when it was first released? Everybody was afraid of it
Here is the car, it should clean up nicely... every aluminium part will receive a mirror finish, so it might take a long time to finish the project since I have no adequate tool for the moment...
Enjoy!
Belt drive tranny!!!

Let me know if you find one: I'd like to understand how the steering is set up on this car.Northy wrote:Great, I'm just waiting on a chassis to come and then I'll look at what I need. Does anyone know if there is a manual on the internet?
Cheers,

Maybe asso can make a few pics while he's taking it apart

Hours of cleaning and polishing later, here are the latest progresses... put your sunglasses on of course it's has still not a mirror finish, but at least everything is now clean and fully lubricated...
Here'is the steering rack, just for Mr. Ed note that the Top Cat is equipped with a cool system that enable the front arms to move backwards in case of a hard shock, this is achieved with the 2 rubbers you can see in the front end...
The fully rebuild and restored car
