I agree(for whatever that's worth). A 6 gear could handle it, but if you're gonna putscr8p wrote:the real question is..................... why would i want to use a 6 gear?![]()
use a stealth.
that kind of power to the ground the extra drag would kinda defeat the purpose.

This is like one of those trick questions like...

Re: 14.4 volts.... stealth vs 6gear??
i was almost set on using the stealth but then i thought about a few things... i thought of the people that ran brushless lipo and wrecked the stealth trans/diff... is the stealth going to be strong enough??is the 6 gear strong enough?? if this is going wreck a trans i rather wreck a $20(on ebay) trans then an $80 trans..plus i didnt think the extra drag of the 6gear would matter.. i have ran high volts on txt1,super blackfoot, and stampede, never a stealth or 6gear ..figured people hear ran lots of power (mod motors, brushless, lipo) to 6gear and stealth trans. just wanted to know they reactedthe real question is..................... why would i want to use a 6 gear?

Re: 14.4 volts.... stealth vs 6gear??
If everything is set right you should be fine either way. If anything is too loose it will wear that part out in a hurry. What kind of esc/motor are you running? If it has any kind of punch control setting put it to 80-100% control. It takes just a bit of strain off and helps the car take-off smoothly. You will not notice much difference in power. It still blisters off the line. You can only take off as strong as your traction will allow anyway. A good rule of thumb when running high power is to let the tires spin instead of anything else. It's better to wear out tires than your drivetrain. IMHO

A 6 gear isn't that strong. It wouldn't put up with that much power. unless it had a 48P Thorp Dirt Burners in it. And you can still get parts for a Staelth from towers. You can't get anything for the 6 gear.

Re: 14.4 volts.... stealth vs 6gear??
Just something to think about --- back in the day we used to wear out 6-gear trannys running stock motors and 6-cell 1200 packs pretty regularly, and haven't heard of that ever happening with a stealth.longboardnj wrote:i was almost set on using the stealth but then i thought about a few things... i thought of the people that ran brushless lipo and wrecked the stealth trans/diff... is the stealth going to be strong enough??is the 6 gear strong enough?? if this is going wreck a trans i rather wreck a $20(on ebay) trans then an $80 trans..plus i didnt think the extra drag of the 6gear would matter.. i have ran high volts on txt1,super blackfoot, and stampede, never a stealth or 6gear ..figured people hear ran lots of power (mod motors, brushless, lipo) to 6gear and stealth trans. just wanted to know they reactedthe real question is..................... why would i want to use a 6 gear?

Re: 14.4 volts.... stealth vs 6gear??
that's probably a bad idea unless you like doing donuts, or it's a drag car, or you're just trying to break partslongboardnj wrote:thanks alot everybody im going with the stealth.. as for the esc im not runing 1 im using a msc/switch
