"Survivor" has ticked me off.........again

Post by RER40 »

OK, so it was CBS.

But some of us watch these stupid reality shows, just not the retarded stupid ones, but anyway... last week the don't show Survivor on it's usual Thursday night timeslot because of the freaking NCAA Tourney - while teasing a "special broadcast" the following Wednesday night (tonight).
So I sit down, brews and cheetos at the ready, and the dang thing is the stupid season recap (till now) episode. One full hour of the crap I've already seen.... because I was watching. And tomorrow night, during its usual timeslot, basketball is on again.
So now I have to go two-full weeks without a Survivor fix?

I get it, they do the recap shows for the people that don't catch it every week. I get it.
Yet at the same time what about the loyal viewers that HATE REPEATS??
I get it, they pay big money to show the NCAA touney, I get it.
MY FSU boys lost in the first round, so I won't watch until the finals.

Thoughts???

Try YouTube things get posted there pretty quickly. Another spot would be IMDB.com, they've got quite a few full length vids there as well.

Comcast cable has a feature called "On Demand" and they capture lots of TV shows, movies and you can replay them at your convenience. This is not an endorsement of Comcast by any means.

I'm not talking about TiVOing, or using HuLu, or anything else of the sorts.
I'm just talking about pre-emptive programming - and then having to wait 2 weeks to watch what I wanted to/planned on watching last week.

IMO opinion it just kills shows. People's memories are short, and they find something else to watch too easily with as many options as there are today.
Prime example, it's like the show "Jericho." I luved it, and then they kept putting it on hiatus in favor of other programming before finally cancelling it altogether. Big public outcry brought it back, for a few episodes, before the network finally cancelled it for good. They'd lost their routine watchers and ultimately their core viewership.

Gotta give you props on that one.
I'm so old I was around when they invented Hooters, including attending the grand opening of the first-ever, and they had no TVs and nobody went for there for it either.
