Ouch! Best of luck with recovery; I agree with others:
Give your best effort in the rehab period, if you don't get the knee back to 100% as soon as possible, it will be that much harder to make it strong down the road...

As bad as it is you got lucky nothing happened to your daughter. Nice job protecting her! When she gets older and uses the line "you never do anything for me" you can show her the scar to remind her how good a father you are!
I'm contemplating getting a tattoo on that knee with her nickname—I can remind her for the rest of her life. :D

That's some great ammo for the teen years! Hope you feel better soon!

Glad to hear your daughter was ok, but your knee. Made my stomach feel queasy just reading it (I don't like blood and bodily stuff, which is why I never even considered being a doctor).

A hundred times worse was sitting in the ER with my son (3 at the time, he's 5 now) when he broke both bones in his right forearm falling off some monkey bars. Truly awful as a parent.

Those staples are gnarley! Just how the skin is pushed together and then stapled shut. It's so basic but I guess it works! Good luck with recovery, that has to be hard.

I would get a tattoo for sure. That way when she is a teen you have proof that you didn't get that scar by doing stupid things with your buddies or something. Great job on protecting Elise.

Every time you look at that knee just be proud that your baby is ok. That scar will become a badge of honor. :D

+ chicks dig scars... too bad it wasn't your face. You'd get laid nightly!!!!
