B2's got the same width between the front arms as the B4. Kotzinger's obviously got a custom front oneway but he made the direct connection work. I'm thinking his front oneway shaft can be split into 2 or 3 parts (not counting the outdrive cups)...otherwise I can't see how he made it supported in the center.

Ok thanks for all this info, its great!!!

Heres how i see it, im going to try the ten4 system on the rear first but if it doesnt seem right will see how I can get a slipper plate with pully incorporated but will be a B4 slipper plate as my intension is to use a VTS slipper as it gives a much more smooth drive and gained two laps just by adding it to my B2.

The tensioner i may opt for adding a 3d printed design to the battery holder mount or servo mount, will see what room ive got to play with. Front gearbox is going to be a 3d print from Shapeways so will need some assistance from someone with 3d cad (im only 2d qualified) to do using a design based on the front bulkhead design where it screws together like a regular gearbox but bolts directly to the chassis like the original bulkhead but uses the B2 diff and the middle gear. As the middle gear on the gearbox rotates opposite to the wheels then the pulley gear will need to be further back in the chassis so just need to work on how low it can go.

Id like the original kick up only due to having a very good set up in the original form, so setting the front up shouldnt be to difficult to get it up there with the top drivers once ive ironed out all the kinks.

Imo while flattening the kickup is proper, it takes away from the conversion look and feel.

Ok stripped car down and metal front and rear chassis plates, alloy A brace and alloy gearbox brace are going to have the anodising removed. Once done will do the rear end first and cut correctly then i will do some designing.

Working on the rear gearbox now and my main concern is wont the pulley melt the gearbox, as its not fixed with bearings on the gearbox? I may have to have a 3D version made with bearing sections added.

With the bearing in place on our 6565 cases, the inner idler flange is meant to ride up against the inner flange of the bearing. This requires drilling the hole in the case large, I don't recall the bit I used

yes exactly. Bugle switched to a stealth trans for that reason. And be careful, if you do the same, be sure to use a 6565 case, as the re-re worlds stealth is like the B2 case.

for a B2 case to work, you would preferably run the belt off of the slipper. Side benefit of that is the pulley is higher, as the B2 chassis ribbing could interfere with a low belt.

Been thinking that but think I could cut into the inner ball joint hole at the rear and should give enough room after modding the tower for a free moving belt using the 4ten pulley, but with the 6565 gearbox. I still may get it made via shapeways as the chassis section that locks into the chassis plate makes it a much better fit.

Having the belt higher would mean using a pulley front diff and different outdrives as one side will need to be longer and feel I can get the 4ten version to work just as good and aim to get the transmission really free. Im looking at a 7661 gearbox casing for the front as that casing could be cut down and may be high enough to miss the A frame.

Still if it fails then the layshaft slipper pulley will be the way to go.

yeah that case could work really well (7661). could incorporate the case as a structural member, ie, bolt the 9custom)front arm mounts to it, bolt it to the front of the chassis. only issue is that B2 is 2.40 ratio, the truck trans is I think 2.6 ratio, so need to manipulate the pulley ratio.

Yes been looking into that, will buy and try, alternative is a 3d version once ive come to a sensible convigeration. That will also work out as i can arrange the screw holes for the chassis and also add a section so the A frame screws onto it making it solidly placed. Also think the only way to do this is by having the shock tower at the very front so gives a bit more room to play with.

Ok did a few jobs already.

1. Cut the Chassis for the belt to have free movement
2. Cut the tower
3. File the alloy gearbox brace to make sure the belt doesnt get damaged
4. Take the old chassis plate, kick up plate, wishobone brace, A frame front section and motor mount plate and remove black anodising. Forgot to add the rear gearbox brace so will do another time.
5. Ordered two white gearbox casings, one truck casing a B4 layshaft and now is time to have a long hard think on how to go forwards. Basically need to get an idea in my head on a design that will work.

Ok got several 6565 gearboxes but now a problem. The diff wont fit so need to go via shapeways to design the B2 gearbox with the idler gear sections with bearing inserts as this will be really free when all fitted. Also got a B4 layshaft. Also now have an idea for the front gearbox so hope to start on this next month.

The b2 trans has a larger diff gear, you need 2.25 outdrives, rings, and diff gear for the 6565 stealth case. The b2 is a 2.40.
