I'm terrible slow at writing, and when I first put down my signature on an official doc , I explicitely kept it short with just my initials.

Later made a more more graphic version to put under my school and other sketches, keeping again with the initials only.
A couple guys started calling me Ed, or Eddy after seeing that, and it stuck with me though it never took off outside of that. So now it's just an internet alias anymore.

The avatar I use is the final version I used with my final project in school and is actually a 3D-rendering. Hope you like it.

Claymore5150 :

I'm a former Army Infantryman who likes to blow up stuff, plus I have a 75% Scottish background, so in the Claymore end of it, you get a double meaning.

5150 : Not in full control of ones faculties. A possible danger to ones' self or others.
Also, my favorite song on my favorite album by my favorite band...Van Halen. Another double meaning.

Nice, huh? A trained and wacko Scottsman who likes swords and blowing stuff up who isn't in full control of himself....

It was just too fitting. I am THE Claymore5150. hahaha! :P

Well, mine is pretty simple. My name is Richard as is my dad's. In order to clarify which Richard people were talking to, I became Richie. As I got older, I just went by Rich. When I would meet people for the first time, I would say "Hi, I'm Rich" just as any other person would say. Unfortunately, people would think that I was bragging and loaded with money...which I'm not.

Well...plain and boring here....

In the early to mid 90's, I religously attended the "illegal" street drags in Southern California with my fixed up S-10. Did all the work myself and as I kept beating more and more cars/trucks, people took notice. When they asked me who did all the work, as a smart-alec I said JK Racing and Performance (JK for Joey King). Like an idiot, I didnt take it any further than there, only helped a few friends with exterior bolt on's on there cars. I kept the name of JK Racing for all the R/C boards I post on, remembering the 1:1 days.

Poor truck, sold it with 60K+ miles, all in less than 11 months, most on the street very late at night...Now I am too busy to even change my own oil. :|

Any personal quirks we should know about so that a more suitable moniker may be fashioned - a love of small farm animals, homosapien tendencies, the strange urge to masticate?

When logging for the first time on a RC forum years ago, my love for the RC10, and Associated in general, and the obvious inconditional love from other members for Losi cars just made me think that I had to display the "superiority" of Associated. In fact, it began with a thread were opponents just posted pictures of broken Associated and Losi cars in an effort to prove they were right... Of course, the battle went going on (and is still today) and we all started to joke about each clan. Well, let's all say "Associated, man!"

Dang, I actually know that Flemish punk band, was listening to it when I was young. It still makes me laugh today, even reading the name... "Ik ben een Jupiler man, drinking as much as I can..."

I chose my screenname "Minicooper 35" because we have a 1994 Minicooper "35" - a celebraty model for the 35th birthday of the Mini Cooper. Unfortunately at the moment it looks like something from "Pimp My Ride" (before Xzibit knocks on the door!) and last weekend I wrecked the engine too. Therefore I have to look for a new roadcar now and in the slipstream of that I changed my avatar ... :(

Cheers

Mine's boring.

My name is Graham North, I usually get called "G" or "Northy".

Northy2 came from the fact that my original account got screwed on here.

G
I'm back! I was 'Northy' but my profile got screwed :(

No imagination here, initials and last name......

Figured I wouldn't forget it if that what I chose.

Boy was I wrong.

When I started working for RC Driver I was FORCED to join message boards (up until then I was ONLY on Dougs dirtoval.com). I had RCDriverER bc we all (from the magazine) made up names that would ID us so people would know who they were talking to. Through the years of listening to people argue (oh you silly oval guys) and everything I felt it was silly that we hide behind handles so somewhere along the line I just decided that no matter what I say people should know exactly who was saying it good or bad. I am magazine guy hear me roar (or should i say ROAR).
