I'm sooo glad this is not a limited run like the classic was.

HI!... I've read from several sources that it will be a limited edition as well.

Re: #6002
Does anyone know if this CVD set will be for 2.2" wheels or the 2.0" wheels? Or used in conjunction with the rear wheel conversion kit...or not?

Also, I sure hope they will be making more nose plates too. I'm sure it will be a hot seller. At least going from what I saw all those years ago when everyone kept bending them very badly out of shape and had to stop running their rc10s as they could not get any more nose plates.

They're new CVAs with 3/16" axles for the 2.2" wheels.zoomzoombang wrote:Does anyone know if this CVD set will be for 2.2" wheels or the 2.0" wheels? Or used in conjunction with the rear wheel conversion kit...or not?

Re: #6002
Well, yes and no.
That A-Main link is for old-style CVD's for the original or Classic RC10 with 1/4" axles and wheels. Your pic is for the new Worlds kit that uses 3/16" axles and the conversion 2.2" wheel.
Not sure if that was clear...

Re: #6002
bully: thanks.
Phin: Yes I meant the cvd shown in Amain. Probably my fault for not making it clearer as I was a bit confused about the item myself.
Bottom Feeder: thanks for clearing it up.

Re: #6002
I'm both excited and disappointed about the release of the new Worlds kit.
I'm excited because it's pretty much the pinnacle of the original RC10's design (RPM Worlds conversions excluded) so it'll be great to have all those tweaks and upgrades in one box. It's just like the cars I used to have back in the early 90's and I definitely want to have one again. The price is more than fair.
But I'm also disappointed because it shows what a poor value the Classic kit is/was. I know it was designed more for the collector crowd but they knew lots of people were going to jump on the opportunity to buy a fresh kit and use it as a basis for a vintage racer or just use it for parts. When you think this may be your last chance for a new RC10, ANY new RC10, $250 wasn't that hard to swallow. But $250 for a car with threaded rods, bronze bushings, short front shocks, narrow front end, six gear trans and old wheels is just a very poor purchase unless you were dying for one... and many of us were last year.
Basically, I'm pretty sure the Classic would have been collecting dust on the shelves if everyone knew for sure that the Worlds (or even a Team Car) was coming. I know I wouldn't have bought one.

You mean there are people who order on the phone?
I'm considering getting one from my LHS, if I can use the $245 Tower price I could get as a bargaining chip to get them down to $255 or so. On one hand I like saving money, but on the other I want them to stay open.

I must have had my head in the sand to have missed this thread!
I knew the re-re worlds was comming out but I didn't know about the upgrades. I'm not sure what to call the car as it's more of a resto-mod than a re release. No matter what you call it, I will be calling one mine! I have been having a lot of fun racing the RPM worlds car and I cannot wait to run the new worlds car right beside it! New world(s) car, I like that name.
I skipped the classic rerelease, because it was just different enough to not bring back the nostalgia at least for me. I think the modern manual was what killed it. I'll stick to my fond memories. Part of me still wants one though.
I was out of RC by the time the worlds car came along (and into a '77 Formula 400ci 4spd). When I came back, I really came to like the worlds car and the DS for that matter after you guys introduced them to me. Now after having owned two worlds cars that I wouldn't dare run, I can have one that will get to do the very thing it was intended to do.
I know where part of my tax return is going, the rest will be flowers and Ramon noodle soup!
Thanks AE, Thanks Tim, Thanks RC10Talk!
