scr8p wrote:that's the biggest reason i'm starting to hate working on cars in the collision industry. everything is push, push, push to get the job in and out. all the while, sacrificing quality. i have a real hard time doing a rush job on a car someone is spending a lot of money each month to pay for. i wouldn't want that done to my vehicles, so i won't do it to anyone elses.

a lot of it is the insurance companies fault, but that another story.
It's the same in the construction trade as well. I stayed away from production homes and companies that pushed their employees too hard. While time is money, and you can't be milking a project until the second coming of the guy in a toga, too much emphasis is put on time and production than on quality and workmanship. My philosophy can be summed up in the immortal words of one of my college instructors. You get paid to do things once, if it comes back you get to do it again for free! I've always strove to do my best and not allow time constraints to dictate otherwise. It got to the point with my business that I just started handing out numbers, when I called you I'd be there within about a week, if you couldn't wait, there were plenty more people standing in line that will gladly take your number. This created a loyal customer base and everyone knew that while they may have to wait for my services, they'd have my full and undivided attention for the duration once I was there. Everyone was happy, they got what they needed and I got to keep my sanity.

If bacteria equals scum then I would think Yes

Seriously though, I spent several years with Caterpillar and when the job was done and the day was over, it was all about the green. More to life then that but if they can sleep at night, more power to them. I would be one of the many that hang themselves in the closet and not because I accidentally kicked the chair out from under myself while dress in tight leather exfixiating myself while playing with........never mind.

So, how about that bacteria?
