Heheh, I was just looking at Reign's "Tide" avatar and thinking yellow chassis, blue arms... what's going to be orange... and how much of this is subliminal ;)

After 18 months of being packed away , I was able to get back on this project. Wanted to dye the parts blue but they were worse than I thought and had to go with black instead.

Still have to paint , final trim the body and finish up the the body mounts.

Nice car. Just a little input though. Your rear suspension mounts are on the wrong sides of the car (they need to be flipped, left to righ, right to left :)), and the passenger side bell crank is on upside down. Good start though. -Jeff

Not to sound dumb but which mount are you refering to ? the a - arm mounts are marked R & L and the shock mounts are the same on each side even they are reversed. I did check the a -arm mounts and they are on the sides as they are marked. Please let me know as I must be missing something.

in the 3rd picture down, without the body, look at the angle of the rear arms, they should sweep forward not be straight out from the chassis like that. most times, it means the mounts are on the wrong side. another tell tale sign would be to take the rear wheel off, if the front edge of the arm is higher than the rear edge of the arm, the mounts are on correct. if the back in higher than the front, another "sign" of the wrong side.

see how these arm sweep forward?

Having the arms mounted incorrectly is VERY common actually. It may be possible that the hubs are also mounted on the wrong side as well (depending of course on what type of rear hub you have). A couple of close up pics would help. One at chassis level looking from the side @ the arm mount. another of the rear hub.. another one of the bottom of the car, rear end only. -Jeff

There is an underside shot of the car on the first post of the thread and the arm mounts look to be reversed in that pic as well.

The mounts are correct the thin part of the wedge is to the rear and they do sweep the arms forward to the front of the car. The reason the whells look straight instead of pointed in was I didnt have the bearing in the rear hubs yet when I took the pics. You guys had me going crazy second guessing myself on this, I have been messing with rc10 for over 20 years and was thinking have I been doing this wrong all along. I even broke out the instruction just to make sure my memory didnt fail me.

In the pre-tear down pic they were wrong that is how they wee when I got it.

Any way the body is all painted and stickered , should have pics up soon.

Thanks for the input.

Paint and decals done. I think it took me longer to layout and put on decals than it did to do the rest of the build.

Checked it out and yours looks great as well. My insperation was the same as yours with short tracks being filled with old Camaros. I would have to push mine to race ya , I havent put any electronics in it yet.
