YR4 to YR4 buggy (YZ10)

Guys

I got myself a YR4 very cheap and was thinking would it be easier to get suspension arms, driveshafts, wheels etc and put on the YR4 or would it be better to try and get a donor car and just transfer the bits on. I was only thinking of using my car on tarmac and not proper offroad. I was going to do what Mr. ED did. Any ideas? Its a YR4 M2J with spare diffs.

The YR4 has a shorter wheelbase than the regular 870c...but, you can convert it to an offroad car. That's what yokomo did when they released the hotdog.

Overall, I think it depends on what parts you have or what parts are easily available. Quite honestly, you'll need all of the suspension components you mentioned including the shock towes and shocks.

Even though this list seems extensive, it doesn't mean that you'll have to use yokomo parts. I'm sure that there are plenty of other buggy parts that can be used.

if you're going to run tarmac without jumps you can use the original shocks and shocktowers of the YR-4.
For the longer arms and drive axles: you can either go with the 870C suspension and wheels or 91-93 works suspension and wheels.
For tarmac the 870 suspension would be better I blelieve, and it is easier to convert to 12mm hex wheels and keeping it within legal width

Thanks for the info guys, its just that I am dying to get back my hands on an 870c as I sold all mine before Mr. Lex started molding the bodies and I would love to have one again. I am trying to not to spend too much on RC at the moment and so would expect that buying a YZ buggy would be quitepricey at the moment.
