What should I do with my near mint rc10 World's Car? Pics!
What should I do with my near mint rc10 World's Car? Pics!
I'm new to forums and RC cars but I recently found in my attic my rc10 world's car in near perfect condition the other day. I never ran it myself before then but the guy who gave it to me ran it maybe once. I took it up to a hobby shop and they got it working. I had a lot of people who came into the shop tell me not to drive it and just sell it and get something a little newer.
I put a kinda generic body on it the other day because it didn't have one and I've only played with it inside a littlle b/c I'm thinking I should sell it.
The box also has parts to a (now known) rctruck
So, I guess I just need to know should I try and sell it, how to sell them and what kind of car should I get if I do sell it? Please let me know what you think I should do b/c I really just wanna drive a fun rc car and but also be able to buy parts for it when it gets hurt. It seems like there aren't a lot of parts available for this one either. What kind of car should I get that goes fast, can drive on dirt too and has cool bodies and stuff to swap out?
Sorry for all the questions, I just got into this and just wanna drive!

definitely correct in thinking not to drive it!
The extra parts you have there all look to be RC10T parts, maybe from a truck that never got put togheter?

Don't drive it. most of the parts that you would break are no longer available, not to mention that car is a piece of sought after RC10 history that many collectors are after. if the car was in rougher shape I'd say go for it, but there are very few left in mint condition. If you just want to drive sell what you have and go get a nice new slash, T4, B4, whatever, you'll have enough $$$ left for a couple lipo batteries as well.

Re: What should I do with my near mint rc10 World's Car?
Or you could just go out and drive it! Ive sold plenty of cars because they were rare, hard to find and could net some good money. But we aren't talking $1000usd here so when you part with a nice peice of history (and you'll never find another) you'll live to regret it. Right now this car has not cost you anything and all the parts on this car are available through ebay, this forums members and even Team Associated. Black parts aren't a big deal and after looking around you'll notice its not like hunting down Ford Model-T parts.
The decission is ofcourse yours to make but if i only had one vintage buggy and it was yours then I'd be stoked to keep it and run. The modern cars just dont hold the same kind of nostalgia and the 'WORLDS" car you have there would make for a very very good vintage racer.
Just my thoughts. I wish you luck.
P.S. If you do just intend to bash the crap out of this car, pass it on to someone that will appreciate it.
P.S.S. If you want to impress the guys down at your local buggy track then this car will definately do that.

in my opinion, since some guy just gave it to you, you should just give it to me. i won't have a hard time figuring out what to do with it.

I think the car should go to SCR8P as he does make a good point.
Why dont you go with a RC10T. These trucks are almost bullet proof (Ive seen what BUGLE does to his trucks at the track). You even have a full swag of spares there to keep you going. There would have to be a few guys on this forum that would make you a good offer/trade + cash on your buggy.

Drive it!
My friends dad gave me an orig 1989 RC10 Graphite (my very first RC10) in great condition except for the purple dye job on the plastics and the slightly crooked drilling for the stealth, but everything was there and barely used. The chassis maybe had 2 or 3 scratches on it tops. I tore that car apart, re-dyed all the plastics and cleaned everything to near mint. (aside from the black dye job)
Long story short: I set that car on my shelf and planned to never drive it... well I couldn't do it! I had to drive it! And I drove the hell outta it. Got me hooked on RC10's it did. Yeah my chassis is all scratched up on the bottom and I broke the front shock mount and the nose had to be repaired slightly... The car may not be worth as much now as it was when I first got it but man did it feel great to drive it at the track.

The rare parts of your car are the chassis and nose plate! They have scratches on them, so they are not mint. Even in that condition you car is worth good coin. I would save it and get a runner. If you don't want it, trade it for a good NEW runner.
ps: I would buy all the truck parts from you!
PM me if you want to sell the truck parts!

Dont drive it!
Sell it to somebody who will appreciate it, why destroy a car that is no longer available. Use the money from selling it to buy a car that parts are readily available and cheap and have fun.
