Anyone ID any of these carcasses of mostly elcheapo road cars. Bottom right one is very kyoshoish to me but I'm pry way off base on that. Top right seems like a pile of redcat crap I had awhile back.15432766429807587535953122560090.jpg
Not looking to refurbish any of these but .mostly parts scavenge so if anyone can help ID any of these that would be fricken awesome so I can make some room on the floor for something more worthwhile![]()
Thanx again

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Anyone recognize these? Brass slotted drive "cup" for a 1/8" shaft, a drive cup that fits a 4mm shaft, a 5mm axle, and an axle that steps down from 6mm to 4.5mm and doesn't have a hole for a drive pin. Shaft on the bottom is 3/16" and had the end that looks like a gear halfway forced into the brass cup. I don't think they're supposed to be together...and to be honest I'm not to sure either the brass cup or shaft are actually RC parts.

That brass coupler looks like an old Dumas boat part. They would have been to couple the motor to the shaft with a nylon puck in the middle. I’ll see if I can find a pic.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Thanks for the clues on the boat parts.
Here's another part I haven't been able to ID....ball diff for something using dogboes/drive shafts with ~8mm hexes on the ends. It's metric, 12mm at the widest bit, then 8mm on the shaft, and 6mm for the ID of the diff rings.

Hmmm..... looks like a Thorp unit to my eyes, but I'm certainly no expert. No clue which vehicle it would be designed for, those 'diff rings' look way too small!Phin wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 11:09 pm Thanks for the clues on the boat parts.

Take a look here: http://vintagepartscars.name/tag/thorp/ - you can see the general look seems to be the same.
Sorry I couldn't help further!

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Machining wise it definitely looks like a Thorp (or MIP) part but it's design is somewhat different than how I'd expect Thorp to build a diff. For example I don't think Thorp would use just diff washers without some kind of beefier pressure plates behind them. Also the screw is a metric thread and I think Thorp used imperial hardware?
The diff washers are pretty close to the size of the washers on the Boiink/Schumacher diff from the C-Car.

Thanks in advance for any kind of help on identifying these.
Todd

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Your chassisless touring with the 3 spoke wheels is a Traxxas 4Tec (wait...aren’t you a Traxxas guy?!)
The other one looks familiar but I can’t place it

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
only experience I have with 4tec is nitro. THinking this isn't nitro but then again I never finished my nitro pro 4tec from when it was new.
