Mark RPM makes a shelf that bolts right to the junior and se chassis for the speed control it works great.markt311 wrote:I had to dremel the chassis a little bit to mount the GTB on the side pod, as a personal preferance I can't stand mounting the esc on the shock tower. A minor detail, but I think it makes the overall layout look much cleaner

You guys have such attention to detail! I need to up my game. What is that ESC? It would go good with a "Blue" Kinwald project.

what front brace are you using with that? any trouble getting the battery in? I couldn't get the battery in when I used the rpm tall front brace and the ESC shelf together.bearrickster wrote:Mark RPM makes a shelf that bolts right to the junior and se chassis for the speed control it works great.markt311 wrote:I had to dremel the chassis a little bit to mount the GTB on the side pod, as a personal preferance I can't stand mounting the esc on the shock tower. Too late for that, chassis is already dremelled but a good idea Rick.
Anthony, YES it was a big PITA to get that battery in there. I had to loosen all the screws holding the rear bulkhead to get the battery in. When I was running my Orion 3200 it fit great. I'm running a 5000mah now and it's definately a tight fit.

Looks like an LRP 'Sphere' brushless ESC.... i've got the old TC (touring car spec) version in my car that has a fan on the top. A good, dependable controller for off road, & relatively cheap now to buy second-hand what with all the timing advance & programmable speedos that are now coming out that are all-the-ragefor on-road applications.RCveteran wrote:You guys have such attention to detail! the Battery hold down is a generic puretech they had left over with the black blocks on it. I had to drill out the side of the chassis, screw it to the side. cut the velcro reglued it shorter. but the battey is easy to remove now. it fits my Orion 3200,3600 with no problem thats why I did it. it woudnt fit before. the RPM tall brace doesnt affect it at all.
The esc is a LRP SPX super mine burned up and LRP sent me this one for a replacement, am still waiting for them to send my motor back

ooooh so that's where they went Cool!
Nice report. If I may, I think that dremeling the chassis exposes the GTB a bit too much... on top of messing up the flex... and hacking a part that's getting pretty rare to find in nice shape these days!
Sounds like you're doing a good job driving it though - great stuff, keep it up!
