Goodyear Tamiya Tires?
I just got these off the bay for $2. The wheels are used and the tires are new. I thought they might fit the old RC10 but they are too small, 1 1/2". When and who made these? I would like to find some rears to go on my SRB.

Those are not tamiya. I suspect Marui galaxy or something of that caliber

Re: Goodyear Tamiya Tires?

you don't want the rears, they're like Big Bear or Wheelie Jeeps... rock hard = no grip worth talking about
even the Scorcher paddles or SuperChamp nipples would work better anyway

Re: Goodyear Tamiya Tires?
yea their rubber is glovesoft but still don't grip much
you've been ripping the rubber?
i've found more wheels whose centres have ripped out than damaged tyres

what other wheels can they be used on?

Thanks for the info. I just was looking for my shelfer buggy. I thought it would look cool with a set of Goodyears. It won't be running.

Re: Goodyear Tamiya Tires?
I've owned a few Big Bears but never ran one. Tire wise I've read many posts and articles over the years. Its just one of those things thats synonymous with them. From what I understand Marui didn't use a very good blend of rubber for the tires which caused them to easily deform and dry rot after only a couple of years. Running them that way causes them to tear with being so soft. Out of around 15 tires I've had only maybe four or five weren't damaged in some way.
How about those rims? Most frustrating three piece ones I have ever put together in my life!!
I meant the tire/rim combo would look good on a lot of things. I think CRP makes adapters but can't remember.

Re: Goodyear Tamiya Tires?
can't say i found the wheels real pretty... pretty plain efforts imho
couldn't find anything worth sticking them onto, needed longer front axles than most cars have
and the rears had a funny X hub on thicker-than-others axles so it ain't easy.
Best target i could think of was a Marui wheelie but never quite tried.
Those things must outlive the BigBear by a long shot.
Never had a BB but somehow accumulated about 4-5 sets over the years, about 1/2 pic'd up there.
Only got around to clearing out all some mths back. The CJ7 wheelie found a new home too.

Re: Goodyear Tamiya Tires?
Just so I am straight. I need to look for Marui rear tires to find a match.

Re: Goodyear Tamiya Tires?
You need the rears.... and a Marui Galaxy (or Hunter) to put them all on.
Check out the reference section at tamiyaclub.com
Under 'other makes' there's tons of Maruis to check out.
