CE slipper question

Post by fastang »

This one has me a bit baffled. I just got this of epay for a really good price. I think it was up for less then a minute before I smashed the BIN. I got to looking at it when it arrived and it is in almost perfect shape except for the little hole that pepole felt the need to drill for the servo adjustment. Im trying to find a plug of some kind or a period correct sticker to cover it up. Other than that I don't think its ever been ran. Everything is pearly white and no scratches on the bottom. It even came with a mint looking black can Reedy Modified. I think its a late version stealth CE with all white parts. The 6 gear holes are not countersunk. The thing that has me baffled is the slipper it has on it. The only time I have seen this set up is on a worlds car. Did these come stock on some of the CE's as well? Maybe I just overlooked it in the past.

What do ya think?

It came with the box which is near perfect as well and all the extra parts from a new build so I don't think it was thrown together with new parts.

Thanks for any info!

What looks odd about it? It looks like the standard slipper on the Stealth transmission.

There were two versions of the CE; the 1990 version had the old-timey 6-gear tranny, and the 1992 version had the Stealth in it. Manuals for both are on www.rc10.com Yours appears to be one of the much later versions as it has the black nylon shock caps on it.

haven't you ever seen the old style thrust bearing before? or are you talking about the solid spur?
