Need a lowprofile brushless esc

Post by Seabass »

Hey guys I just finished my new & old buggy but the Novak ESC I have is too big for my chassis. The body won't fit properly with the esc. I can always move the ESC above the battery but I would rather find a system I can mount to the chassis.

Any suggestions on some smaller esc's that are a bit shorter? I would like something that can handle at least a 10.5 and 3 cells.

I have been looking at the Tekins, which I think will work. Any others out there.

Thanks in advance

LRP makes the AI that will work fine(i think). The Castle Sidewinder is very low profile if sensorless is ok. The Castle is the cheapest of the low profile selection. I know...I always sound like a Castle Fanboy, but they make great stuff!

I ran into the same problem with my Novak Havoc.

Installed the low profile heat sink and it works great with my 10.5.

i too just ran into this issue with my b4.

the guy i got it form raced oval, so i needed to get a new body and wing for it.

when i mounted the body i found that the gtb fan hits the body.

the other thing i noticed was, WTF is with the front body mount? why the heck did they do it like that? pretty stupid design if you ask me.

Go with the Tekin RS. No need to spend extra on the Pro version. It should fill the bill nicely.

Thanks for the info guys. Brandon, I have really been eyeing the Tekins but holy cow they are very proud of thier products

I know in the past they made some really nice stuff.

Thanks for the info on the RS. I don't need anything that is super technical. I am a plug and play type guy. But I don't have a problem with making some adjustments to improve overall drivability of the car if the ESC has the capability.

If you can find an LRP Sphere, it would work great as well. Probably pick one up for less than half of an RS. I have an RS too and I love it, but if on a budget, go with a Sphere.

I have a RS...it's quite short. Good stuff.

No, I will not help you with your dorky short course truck…sorry, it’s against my religion. If it's not a 1/10 scale buggy...I don't care.
