MY HAPPIES DAY FOR LONG LONG TIME, RC500 4WD AND RC500 2WD

Post by Jerzi »

Yes, this happies moment started yesterday when I got an call from an very good friend.
He told me that he can give me to my rc-museum some cars, parts, bodies, tires, spare parts and even an tire dryer.
Well I got from him an rc500 carbon 2wd and one rc500 4wd.
Ok the cars are in dirty condition but with lots of time and tlc they will be very nice display models.
Will post some pics later to you.
The 2wd car is in superb condition, the car has not hit the road many times.
A question for guys who know these car well. The rc500 2wd has carbon radio tray and carbon chassis, are these rare and was it an hop-up item for this car.

Yes, the later RC500 had C-F radio and chassis available as option parts as they came with FRP as standard. Those parts were the same for the 2wd and 4wd but early 500's had different chassis and radio tray design.

The 2wd is so in good condition that I cant belive it. Well some parts are missing in the brake system but that doesnt matter at all.
It looks like an new car.
Do somebody know what was the price of these cars then and for the carbon chassis also.
when my friend phoned me and told me this I was think all the time now I`ll get the green and white car but not, little sad there when I saw that they where black.

RC500 2wd kit originally sold for $475 and the 4wd upgrade was an additional $250. I believe you could get them in a combined box or bundled price at around $675 but I can't find any info on that just now.
