Low Buck Build Entry - left over old-new RC10

Post by vintage AE »

Here we go... I have built a pan and an almost complete graphite old-new RC10s in the last couple years. I have a bunch of parts left over, so now comes the after birth old-new RC10.

My first one was the pan car. I ended up getting a really cool paint job for it with a chrome roof and wing, so I sprung for some Sees aluminum wheels for it. This made my rear track width too wide with the Klein arms. I ended up using the typical rear RC10 setup with that car and set aside the arms along with the Losi hubs and front B44 CVAs. I bent the front nose plate in a race and ended up replacing it. I felt that it's chassis, even though powder coated in hardened powder coat, was cut down too far and was too flexible. I cut down a replacement, but not as far and now was left with an extra pan chassis. Needless to say this build went through some transformation. I ended up spending a lot of time and $$ on it and eventually changed out the towers too, which again will go towards this build. That's the bulk of where this builds parts will come from.

I also have a B4, which I have some spare parts from. My buddy slotcarod gave me some Kyosho shocks a while ago when I was working on a Kyosho Raider I had from my past. I got gold and TI shocks that I can use on the rear, but I am looking for some cheap blue B4 shocks on ebay. I also got to come up with a cheap stealth transmission before the deadline.

The wheels and tires will come from my used B4 wheels, they may be bald, but will complete the build. I hope I done need electronics too, if so, I may have to scramble.

Anyway, here is a very early photo, more to come eventually

Just got a cheap lot of RC10 parts recently that will help out not only in this build but in my whole fleet too. the left overs will go to this build

Re: Low Buck Build Entry - left over old-new RC10 withdrawin

Post by vintage AE »

I have been reassessing some of my priorities in life aka $$$ and I decided that I would withdraw my entry. I really want to make an effort to prioritize my RC spending this year. This build, even though it's was a low buck build, needs a lot of parts I just shouldn't pay for right now. I will get it done eventually, just not anytime soon. I was thinking that once it was finished it would go up for auction here and the proceeds would go towards the site. Unless, if someone wants it as is and I will throw in 2 gold and 2 TI rear Kyosho shocks they can make me/the site an offer. Just pay shipping that is.

Lets face it, there are some pretty cool ideas out there for this build off. Mine isn't an original idea, just a left over parts build from something that has been done several times, so not like I would have come close to winning

while waiting for my 10T chassis to be powder coated I thought I would spend some time with this left over parts project.

I had a new 10t nose plate that I trimmed to allow the steering servo to fit in, make some nose tubes, and make wing mounts. I finally got back my B2 body a couple of weeks ago that I had sent off years ago for my old but new rc10 pan car. I didn't have to pay for it, thank god. It took two years, he painted the wing on the wrong side  and that wasn't even the wing I sent with it

All that is left now are front shock bushings, an antenna mount, motor plate and front Klein arms. I plan on selling this one now instead of auctioning it off. I need $$ for electronics on other builds :(

There was a couple unused wings around so I picked one and started bending some wire for it.

  since it was called a left over parts buggy, this one is for you. I hope the 10T arms are good enough, they are all I had laying around that fit the mounts.

I will actually order some Klein arms eventually, unless I come by a used set someone want to sell.

I only need a few parts, but I was just waiting to get my next invoice so I can have some extra cash, which is not until the end of next month. The motor plate and front arms will probably cost me ~$60 together, not much but I will likely only get $175 for the buggy when I sell it. I'm just drawing it out so it doesn't seem like I'm spending as much money on it

I have a set of losi rpm front arms that are really close that I am using though they prob are around the same price as dynotech and tougher to find.....and not swept back like original.

I have been wondering how close the bandit arms might be.

I will likely just suck up the $33 for the arms and then try and find a good deal on a motor plate. It's $33 because of $15 for shipping to Canada

The JRX-Pro SE front arms are swept back the same as the world's arms but are ever so slightly longer. With B4 front wheels the offset is right at ROAR legal width. The standard JRX2 front arms are the same width as the Pro-SE arms but are not swept back.

I'm not as familiar with the Jrx series, are the JRX-Pro SE front arms available in stores and do the fit the 10T mount and B4 C hubs?
