I had a nice description written and lost the whole damn thing before I hit submit.
This is an on and off project I've had since having this B chassis, nose, motor plate, and wheels anodized red last year. Towers are Hot Trick, nose tubes are titanium from bigjeepz, shocks are B3, and suspension is from this built but never run CE I got on craigslist that now is set up as a modern runner/racer.
I have no real direction for this build and I'm not sure if it will be a shelfer or mild runner. I think the 6 gear will be rebuilt with the Thorpe 48p gears and the outdrive bearing mod. Body will be a teambluegroove Sidewinder reproduction with a clear lexan undertray.
Or I could totally lose interest and put it on the for sale section.

Looks very nice, I can relate to not having a real path with a build lol, I did finally snag a HT rear tower from ebay for a good price Only took me months

Re: Red anodized pan project, shelfer (limited runner?)
This is an interesting build that came full circle. I actually ended up losing interest in this one and selling it to William (nvxwax) and then buying it back! William thankfully added the blue shocks for me (although I went the extra mile with the blue rpm perches and collars and blue metal shock caps). I also put in a nip worlds steering setup, completed the 6 gear trans work that I left half done when I sold to William. I had to fix some botched modifications (my screwup) to the trans case.
The car features red anodized pan, nose, motor plate, and wheels. The screw set is all red as you can see, the 6-gear has all Thorpe 48 pitch internal gears, and the outdrive bearing mod with removal of the small inner bearing and brass spacer. (See old RC Car action scan/thread in tech section on how to do this. It was a lot of work, not sure that I would do it again).
I sold it with this body to William (which was why I had 2nd thoughts, loved how the body turned out from W.E.D Jim's paint) and he trimmed and mounted it. The Hot Trick rear shock tower was not working out to get a tight fitment around the rear shocks so I changed it to a 10T rear tower and nip buggy front tower that I dyed red to match the build.
I still need to complete the electronics, mount the wing, get the rear ball cups converted to the blue RPM units, and get the body to fit a little better on the front.

That looks great! I'm thinking about getting my pans re-anodized along with a bunch of B2 aluminum parts that I have. Can you tell me what you paid to have that anodizing done. I don't even know what to expect and don't want to be shocked too badly when I take the stuff in for a quote. Thanks!

Bump to close this one out. It runs, it drives, I think it is really cool! There's nothing else on the list for this one, so I took some new pictures with the wing mounted and electronics on board and posted them in my gallery thread.

Great theme RC10. Kinda reminds me of an Orange County Choppers type thing.

I hope you don't consider this as thread pollution, but I ran across this, maybe a little on purpose just moments after my previous post. Dig those crazy outfits...
