Never met Tony but his girl friend JZ is pretty nice and knows her way around a dirt track. It looks like they used her old colors and design on the CW Salem sprint body.
I've "Hung" out with Tony a couple times at the US Openwheel Champs in 06' and 07', mostly he always had a small crowd around him at the track. My best Tony story is this-
2006 USOWC @ Coopers R/C Raceway in Chatham VA, A good friend of mine was practicing Mod EDM ( Fastest class period ) one of the CW drivers collects Solly on the track and destroys 1/2 of the body in process. Solly goes back to his pit, assesses the damage. Mean while the drivers registered in Mod Sprint are waiting In the long line to practice, Tony is 2 spaces behind me listening to his iPod. Solly writes up a bill for $425 dollars for sheet metal repair, graphics re wrap and labor- walks up to Tony who then looks up and takes his ear buds out. Solly hands him the bill and explained that one of his drivers wrecked his body in practice and he needed to pay it ( straight faced as well ) Tony looks him dead in the eyes and asks him if he crashed into him? Solly said no, but since Cooper ran for Tony it was his job to pay the bill. Tony threw the bill on the ground and told him to go talk to Coop, it wasn't his $%&*&% problem.
We spent a good portion of the night actually drinking and playing poker with Tony in one of his 2 Prevost busses.

That's got to be one of the greatest stories I've ever read! EVER!
I always liked the fact that Tony ran in the U.S. Open Wheel Champs and liked the cars so well he bought the company.LOL. Mainly because I was following his career while he was running midgets and Silver Crown, and dirt Lates.
Really cool story thanks for sharing!(loved the pic as well)

Would that be Chris Cooper? If so he races carpet oval at my local track. Nice guy and really fast driver.

Aaaaahhhh crap! I'm about to get passed by that orange truck!
I was browsing google the other day and came across a picture of my old Dominator. I always regretted selling that car even though I thought I got pretty good money for it at the time. I'll have to dig up my photo's of the car. It was one hell of a...

I still have mine - one of Jim Deiter's cars - in fact it has the same orange wheels as yours.
Do you happen to have any pics you can share?
Did or do you know Dieter? I ran at a couple of his local tracks in the Joliet area as a...
Here's one of my latest purchase. They came in separate auctions from the same seller who poorly listed them and got the lot for very few bucks. I mainly bought them for the electronics: NER-2S receiver, NES-1A servo and a almost brand new Reedy...

Amazing find! Those cars were called The Dominator for good reason. I was a 2wd lowered and converted buggy oval racer in the early nineties. One day a guy showed up to the track with a Dominator. It was like a rocket ship on rails compared to the...
Here's a Custom Works Dominator I finally built after having it sit for a few years. I replaced all the plastic pieces, polished the metal parts and added Houge diff sprockets and new chains.
I used a re-wired Novak T-1X, NER-2X, NES-1A and...

I feel like if you don't make up a set of silicone caps to put on it, it just isn't complete. Don't get me wrong, it's an absolutely AMAZING build! I always wanted one of these in spite of never racing dirt oval, nor having a dirt oval track...
The Dom arrived and is in better condition than I’d ever hoped. Just needs a thorough cleaning. The poor thing’s been neglected and needs a little TLC. I’ll use this thread to chronicle the restoration and ask any questions I have. Feel free to...

I always wondered but never asked what that was in Thumbs avatar. Sweetness.
There has been a bit of recent resurgence of Dominator IV cars on eBay and it got me to thinking...
1. All the early ads for the Dominator in ~'89 had yellow plastic. I've never seen single yellow spare parts, so I assume the car used in the ad was...

The Dec '87 RCCA review of the Dominator mentions the right side slots. Also, unless we're talking about different yellow wheels, I thought the early Dominators used Yoke 834b wheels.
