Re: Turbo Optima Mid Special Build
This is fantastic!
I had 2 NIB TOMS kits, sold 1 of them and still have 1 NIB together with a Turbo Optima Mid and an Optima Mid Custom. Also have them all built too.
I actually bought an old racer from Japan recently and I was 99% certain it was a Turbo Optima Mid Special (I work overseas and my kit is in the UK so difficult to check chassis weave) but your thread has helped me a huge amount and I now know it is definitely a TOMS
Enjoy it! Love the paint job too it's a pain to get the body off with the posts there isn't it!
Below is the runner as it arrived (except it has a Mid Custom body fitted).
As it's going to be a runner I'm going to use wing wire and an Optima Pro body. Pics soon!

Re: Turbo Optima Mid Special Build
From the looks, this is the Mid with the carbon chassis? For some reason, I though the name was different. I have one, but I got it in a trade so didn't build it myself. It's been a shelf Queen it's whole life.
I love that paint job though, did you do it?
