A little Dominator update for the group. I have some cool stuff in the works for a body (bodies actually) and as you can see the rolling chassis will have two sets of wheels depending on how I want to switch it up, box art or other.

The Custom Works hubs I bought were different than the original ones so I stuck with original, but had to soak them in penetrating oil for days to get the one-way bearings out and then put back in with the correct orientation. Also I received help from Reggie on the Yokomo wheel hub screwset I needed to get the wheels mounted and a pair of Proline waffles because the nip ones seem to be so hard to find. I'll swap out the used pair from Reggie if I ever find another nip pair.

Left to do is something with the steering tie rods and ball ends, and electronics, along with the bodies when they are done. As you can see from the roller pic, there will be a "modified" look and then I plan to have a box-art look with the yellow wheels.

How did you find the alloy wheels and spike tires?

I think the alloys are what yokomo guys refer to as mini mags? Got them from a helpful member on here, and another helpful member sold me some Custom Works parts including the two nip pairs of spiked tires you see.

It does look pretty tough doesn't it? I can't wait to show it off with the body I have lined up.

Which one, box art or the blue one (since the orange one has someone's name on it, )?

The painter had to go out of town for a few weeks so he said he'd start on it when he gets back, late July. He has the body I sent him though for the boxart.

This Dom would be the bee's knees if I could find another set of these polished mini mags to get a matching width set. The fronts are about a half inch narrower than the rears but the tires are the same front and rear. There just isn't enough wheel to mount the tires cleanly on the narrow fronts (and I'm not going to glue them of course!).

Maybe that way I can find someone looking for narrower wheels for their project and we can both get what we're looking for?

Doing a little more research lately Adam and found that your chassis/car is from the 87' era- so the 834 wheels are "correct" but of course it will look good either way 8) RCCA Dec 87' Pg 76-79

Cool! '87 is my favorite 80's year, I was in 5th grade. So you are saying the yellow 834 wheels are correct?

Boxart photo coming once I trim the body, but I need to get the steering servo to complete things. For now here's a pic with the body that will go with the aluminum wheels theme.
