Bought it. Couldn't hold of any longer!!!!

Post by Mad Racer »

Oh well I think it's great value with all the little extras that it comes with.

This one will have to stay standard to be able to run in the vintage festivial since my other shots are too modified now.

I good excuse to buy this LOL.

yeah yeah blablah whatever, haha!

It's awesome :) I'm still undecided whether to pick one... I still have a nib boomer with a front shock kit, which in essence isn't much different from a supershot, and I have yet to start building it!

Will you do yours box-art?

It's just a option out Hot Shot.

Comes standard with the HP suspension kit (High performance) as you said 4 shocks all round, Ball bearings throughout (24 all up) GT Motor (25t) Full under tray, New body with a large rear wing, Gold plated wheels with pin spike tytres & new decals.

Back in the hey day the bearing kit was almost $100 alone. The motor was a Technipower mod motor ( 23t I think) Different resistors for the MSC to the Hot Shot.

The kit here in Australia was $550 alone.

So if you add up all the extra's to the Re Re Hot Shot Plus the Bonus wheels it's well worth it. Oh well to me anyway.

See I love the original hot shot look but hated the mono shock setup. I also like the original wheel and tire pkg better than this one (no offense).

So are you saying that it would be possible to upgrade a regular hot shot with the suspension, ball bearings and wing?

Or I guess I could outfit one of these with the white wheels and original tires.

I've always wondered: Which chassis, this one or the Manta Ray (TA-01 buggy), has the better performance?

You can convert any Hot to a Super Shot with very little effort.

Super Shot VS a DF01/TA01. As Kaiser said a Manta Ray will hose it. You are compareing buggys of 7 yrs apart in technology.

Still love the Super Shot. I always wanted one but ended up buying a new Turbo Optima. So i never got one. Hence why I bought this some 25 yrs later

Show Dog you read my mind. I want a nice chrome. I see what I can get.

Cheers

In what way is it too modified? don't we all just race either stock or mod at the vintage meets? I thought the only difference was the motor for stock or mod? tyres & shocks are free to modify?

Hi Jack.

To run in the Shot Class with other Hot Shots,
our vintage rules have changed. Original shocks are to be used, ( Are not Free)I think oval block tyres & wheels( Hot Shot ) . Really just a stock Shot to be used. If you have different shocks you will have to race in stock with the likes of the Yoks, Mids & etc.

My Super Shot is modded with different shocks, 2.2 wheels, Custom Steering rack for no bump steer. I wanted a re re Super Shot so this was good timing if I can make another meet.

I would love to run my Big Wig but it never came with shocks and buying a new set will not be cost effective.

Then again maybe S/Shot shocks might fit???

All built up.

Has Top Force rear uni shafts with DF01 CVD'S up front.

The body set is of my Super Shot runner. I have decided to go gloss black with a custom decal sheet if I can get one done up.

Went together well but is a lot of parts in this kit.
