My SRB runner
My SRB runner
Hey all,
Here's some recent shots of the car running at the recent Vintage buggy festival at Castle Hill Sydney Australia.
I've been looking for one of these gearbox setups for my SRB buggy for years..
This would make it almost complete. (4x4 kit would be even better)
Thanks going out to Darryn (Retro R/C) for the great running shots.

Re: MIP Gearbox for My SRB
Yeah, I know.. I've been looking for years and have always wanted one since I was a teenager... They were soooo expensive back then.shodog wrote:That's a tall order. those gear cases are uber rare
My ultimate would be the 4x4 kit as well... Pfft... No hope on that one!

Had a bit of a break from RC when I was in NZ, but now back into it..
Had s bit of a look at your Tamiya club page... Very impressed!
I recently made the trip to Castle Hill and that was loads of fun. Now I'm looking to get some interest going in Perth, an Enduro I hope.
My Srb had been a long term project and all I need is that gear case.. One day I'll find one. (Or make one!)

Re: MIP Gearbox for My SRB
when you have bst access, you can start a "wanted" thread. until then, you gotta keep that kind of stuff out of the general forums.

Re: My SRB runner
Hey nice buggy! I have some questions:
Where did you get / can you get the front suspension setup? I mean those arms are obviously not stock and I've seen those extensions before but have no idea where to get them. They look good - and probably are lighter and more durable than stock.
How did you setup the rear suspension for those shocks and how did you mount them to the roll cage?

The front end and roll cage is made by a company called RCH (Radio controlled hobbies) and I bought it all from a shop in Melbourne in 1989. They do come up on Ebay from time to time.
The rear suspension is made by MIP for the RC10 and I've cut down some RC10 universal drive shafts and re-joined them with RC10 wing tube to make them fit. MIP made an earlier version of this suspension for the SRB with different drive shafts, but I hear that it wasn't that good.
I'll post some closeup shots so everyone can see the mods.
Cheers
