First time post for a newbie on this forum with project pics
Hi guys
First post for me here, allow me to introduce myself and show you a few pics of one of my past projects
I used to restore and collect Tamiya classics but lost heart with the advent of the numerous re releases.
I`ve recently purchased a very tidy Losi xx4 and a TTech Predator XK98 for box art shelfers/light restoration to try and get some enthuisiasm back.
Currently im gathering bits and pieces together for a Pavidis YZ-10 rebuild too.
If anyone has anything Yokomo thats in good order that may help me do this id love to hear from you !
Im a regular over on oOple.com and race in the UK National series with reasonable success.
Anyway, here are some pics of my Sand Scorcher restoration from a couple of years ago for starters. 90% of the parts are original. I spent a small fortune to gather things together but was over the moon with the results.
Enjoy ...........................................
I started off by sourcing two fairly tidy although very tired rolling chassis .....
Whilst i was stripping and polishing, i sent the driver figure off to a good friend of mine who has a talent for these things .......
Stripped both chassis and used a rotating desktop polishing machine to get these results. Used a dremel polishing wheel on the nooks and crannies !
Fitted bespoke alloy bumpers and wheel trims.
Tamiya ultra fine plastic polish used on the radio gear housings bought them up well ....
Body shell was painted by a pro painter here in the UK. After some weeks away i was over the moon with what he managed to acheive !
As requested, he also recreated heat damage on the exhausts
Few final shots ....
Hope you like, thanks for looking !

somewhat glad to see my BigWig isn't the only one that can't hold its "rainbow" stickers glued properly to the sidesRich D wrote:

Haha thanks Well, i took those pictures just after i had finished building it. It does have a few minor marks but i try to keep things tidy
We race on Astorturf ( artificial football pitch ) high grip, pretty clean if it stays dry
Here are a few more shots of the 511. I have fitted most of the option parts to this one........
