Edit - I think there were too many pics so I cut it down a lot! Also started a separate post for electronics/videos.
This is my Team Car that I had as a 13 year old (I’m 28 now). I bought it new from a LHS near Minneapolis. I only ran it a few dozen times. Black plastic parts are original which I think is strange for a team car. The only upgrades I’ve put in are the RPM bearing steering kit and the graphite tranny brace (I installed these as a kid). I had also put graphite towers on but have since gone back to the originals. I think the RPM steering looks great with the fibreglass towers. The rest of the parts are original or direct/near direct replacements. I had Lunsford tie rods, but I replaced these with the OG black Associated rods.
Goal is to get this to be a soft runner (carpet) with old school electronics – all the ones I wished I could have bought as a kid but lawnmowing and caddying didn’t cut it!
On to the show!

Amazing what a difference the new style tires and black wheels makes in the appearance!
Very cool man, looking good, I'm collecting parts for a build like that myself, Do you remember if that was the original graphite tranny brace, or did you add it on, also, would you remember if the original servo saver was black, or white.

Thanks Marlo - the graphite was an upgrade, original was black
I don't specifically remember the servo saver, sorry - it was one of the first things to go
Protech body and a trinity monster horsepower on the way

Agreed on the all black - the Dirt Hawg tires are just mean too. They're going on my desert runner car.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a NiMH battery pack that will fit the RC10 without mods? I tried my 2000 MaH cells and they're too big...need an older school pack to be true to the car.
First a very happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there!
I posted a while back regarding my old RC10 Team Car which I'd like to get running again (or shelf potentially...see below). Thanks Reggie and everyone for all the feedback on my questions....

I am wondering for the runner what would be the toughest chassis finish and how to do it. I imagine I need to have the old finish stripped, and then have the chassis treated.
I am thinking I would like it to actually feel like the outside of a...
Voracious reader, first time poster - this site is craaaazy, I love it! The first few times here I literally got lightheaded because it brought back so many sights/memories/feelings/smells from my childhood. Solder and shock oil...mmmmmm...

OK so my brother is back at my parents' house for my niece's first birthday and he found the car!
Just skyped with him and asked him to take some pictures. Hope to have some by tonight!
I have a rere worlds car coming whenever they unload it off the donkey they used to get it from Cali. I'm thinking of using new electronics, probably an inexpensive brushless system in that for bashing. Since I've been into crawling the last few...

It won't be *bad*, it's a little hot for that car.
Do you notice any handling differences between the RC10 graphite team car and the RC10 team car with tub chassis (both fitted with white nylon parts throughout)?
I haven't driven either yet. Been a while...greetings all :)

I would say the tub chassis has more flex and probably a lot bigger sweet spot for setup
Are there any currently available Short front arms for the RC10 pan car that you guys are aware of? The 1984-1990 units rather than the Wide frontend stuff.
Interestingly enough I ran accross a set of Andys Arms that are the short ones in a...

As I said, I already got the answer. Forgot the exact measurement but I remember it being even wider at the inside mounting point than truck arms. Pin to pin length I believe was somewhere between the short and wide buggy arms.
Well I think I finally fried the Novak T1-X or Lemans High Speed Pro motor today.
I took this video today and at the end of running, the car stopped and was smoking. I think it could of been the 3800 MAH Nihma with older electronics?. I adjusted...

Gotta love those old vintage kyosho manuals that say If you don't have a lot of experience soldering have a friend do it
