Um, slightly better than the Avante? They can fare ok on a slightly undulating hard packed clay track. It isn't a Yokomo or a XX4.

there were some really fast/competitive avante's at the vonats this year. they suprised me.

So well that the UK Team drivers used prototype Manta Ray suspension on them until it was replaced a year later by this http://www.tamiyaclub.com/article.asp?id=64

After saying that, they do go a lot better than Avantes.

Revised shock towers (thicker materials, taller/wider front)

front metal cross brace reversed

Re-re hi-cap dampers

Revised front shock lower mounting points (no BF8/BF9 brackets)

Gold strengthened front uprights

Revised steering linkage

No titanium screws

Revised decal font


Boxart appears to be as original, although suspect there will be no blister packaging inside.

Tower always inflates the preorder price on the Tamiya re-re's. After they come in stock it will drop.

Honestly, I wish you would write a book on racing Tamiya vehicles. Your post are very informative. It gives a good look into what racing with a Tamiya was really like back in the day minus all the rosy tint of nostalgia.
