Electric Stealth trans with GT gears?

I ended up with a pile of RC10T parts, and when I combined them with the parts I already have I had almost enough for another truck. I decided to piece it together, but I'm missing a few parts, and I ended up with a RC10GT trans. My question is can I buy an electric trans, and use the gears from the GT trans?

Slipper, upper gear, and idler will transfer to a 2.65 case, but the 2.65 outdrives and case are currently expensive. When associated re-releases the stealth you should be good to go. A T2 case will fit all the GT components but doesn't bolt up to the older truck directly.

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

One of the fast guys at my local dirt oval says removing a set of gears from the dif improves speed, What say you??

yeah, it would possibly be more efficient if the diff assembly is stable with just two planet gears instead of 4. less chance for gear mesh to create friction, but a too loose diff is also an opportunity to lose traction. one wheel peel.

Didn't Robinson make a 64 pitch internal gear set for the Stealth trans? I think father had a set in his carpet oval car. What was the final drive ratio with the 64 pitch gears??

just wondering if adding the Robinsons Racing Optional Steel Idler Gear for the RC10-GT to my rc10 stealth tranny is a good or bad idea. The stock Idler gear for the Rc10 and Rc10-gt are the same part number (6507) so I assume the steel gear should...

Their site is worthless though. I think they sell on eBay now.

They don't produce that part any longer, and they're apparently hard to find.

[My roommate has a Losi XXT-CR, and while he was rebuilding the transmission, and I was rebuilding the stealth in my 10T, I noticed he was lubricating the teeth of the internal transmission gears (top, idler, and diff gear) with a lubricant of waxy...

The waxy lube is probably the AC1001 shown here:

I used it, and still have a little tub from 1995 or so. It did seem to add a little extra life to my GT's transmission when I started running the TOP/Novarossi motors. :shock:

I have a two year old now and have gotten back into RC. I have my old childhood rc10 B3. I put in a brushless motor with amazing results but I would like to beef up the necessary bits for handling the new power. Advice is much appreciated 😊

For retro racing I upgraded my B3 to a b4 top shaft and slipper assembly, it's a straight swap and takes the strain out the single slipper pad that comes in the kit.

Yes, but as I showed in my video the idler is most of the problem :wink:

FYI, there is a guy that is making a replacement Idled gear for the new China stealth transmissions. The gears are aluminum and worked great in the tranny. It's a lot...

I have a King Cab coming in the mail and would like to put a Stealth trans in it. The question I have is which one? I read in this thread that the T2 and the T4 both have 2.60 ratios. What about the T3? Same as the T2, T4? Are they all physically...
