Re: WINTER STORM KICKN THE EAST COAST
well it's official. scr8p is tired of snow.
it's like every week there's a decent amount of snow, it's getting rediculous. we were spoiled with the lack of it last year, so i guess it's pay back time.

Re: WINTER STORM KICKN THE EAST COAST
Same here.
I have Spring Fever bad. There have been very few days where we didn't have at least a little snow around. Hope everyone weathers the storms well. They're calling for 60 here a couple of days next week. I've already ironed my bikini and dusted off my waxing kit...

Re: WINTER STORM KICKN THE EAST COAST
The snow is annoying but the ice storm kicked our asses bad. We were luckier than some with power down for 37 hours.

Re: WINTER STORM KICKN THE EAST COAST
We just went through about a week and a half where the daytime highs were -18°C and overnight lows about -30°C, give or take a few degrees. That's absolute temperature, not the bogus "feels like blah blah blah with windchill" crap. For the Americans, that's about 0°F to -22°F. Welcome to winter in Alberta, where the weather separates the men from the boys.

Re: WINTER STORM KICKN THE EAST COAST
I hope those that have had problems pull through it OK.
It just started for us here, looking at a foot on top of our foot or so from last week
I'm a Ski junky so I enjoy this weather... this weekend or next will be my 7th trip this season
If there was a ski addiction anonymous meeting here, my GF would make me go

At those temps I'd be worried about my "boys" being separated from the man...Coelacanth wrote:where the weather separates the men from the boys.

We haven't lost it yet- but the power is starting to flicker a lot.

Re: WINTER STORM KICKN THE EAST COAST
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Losing power is the worst. I've seriously considered investing in a whole house generator. They improved our part of the grid a few years ago so it's been much better. When we first moved in it went out everytime a butterfly flapped it's wings.

Re: WINTER STORM KICKN THE EAST COAST
We have a 6K generator setup as backup power (2 full rooms plus 65% kitchen) ready and waiting...wires routed and prepped) plus 50 gal fuel. We looked into a tap in system but it was close to $1500 for the switching gear. We also have our RV filled with LP, diesel and water. So its good for a week on top of the house generator.

Re: WINTER STORM KICKN THE EAST COAST
We got a fresh foot today, on top of the foot that was already there.
6+ inches is supposed to fall over night.
The snow was too deep for my old tractor to handle so I used a snowblower. I should be able to plow in the morning. I also widened the area around the driveway with the snowblower so there's actually someplace to put all the new snow.
