USPS shipping - what went wrong

Post by slow_jun »

its the second time that these had happened, I usually use First Class International from US to Singapore (Cheapest). the first one that my item went missing that it took 3 months for the item to show up to the sender (return to sender -DS Stuff) but item was still return to the sender. Now (my precious Rouge Tranny) went AWOL.... huhuhuh... 3 months had passed and still no show, no tracking, though the money will be refunded by Chris, just a bummer that this could happen. just wish that it will still appear at my doorstep. anyone else experience this? do you still manage to get your stuff?

usually you are sol. Has happened to me so many times. Even with insurance. They usually find a way to make it so it is not their fault. To bad about the trans. I feel for you. Though the averages are rather good, when it goes bad it's bad. You eat it and wish there was a better way. I have an idea for an RFID style tracking of packages. Some thing that actually lets you see a geo code location of the package. But that would not help with the munching that sorting machines do.

In my experience, USPS has had better delivery results than UPS or FedEx. The problem for me in my neighborhood is package thieves. Pre rere days I had a $350 new built fast attack vehicle go missing, never to be seen again after tracking said it was delivered

I always use tracking plus signature required. Mind you our mailboxes are locked so that helps. Never had any issues with delivery if I request fiat rate expedited. But first class even has worked out

Maybe no tracking but the customs form id is entered into the computer and might show some info. I always give this number to anyone overseas I sell something to with the caution that it isn't a tracking number as such but it is tracked in the computer at least to when it leaves the US, anymore I can't say for sure but it might be worth a shot if you still have the number available that is.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

If I had to ship international, I'm pretty sure I wouldnt use USPS, It might be the cheapest route but who knows how good the next company they give it to will be. I dont care for thier costs but id probably use fedex/ups/dhl depending on the recipients request.

I just got a package by UPS. They rang the door bell and when I answered, the package was sitting on the doorstep and the UPS guy driving off! Good thing I was home!

They did this with some guns and ammo in the past as well!

Normally here in Singapore,if the items does not fit the pigeon hole(mailbox)they will bring it to our Flat(house)and ring the bell,if no one anwer they will leave a note for you to pick up the item,100%sure that the item did not reach Singapore. I have been usin USPS First class with/with our tracking,if the item reach Singapore,it will be DELIVERED. I can bet my neighbors with that hahahhaa.well maybe it still stuck in USPS ,thatbwe dont know, still hoping it will still be delivered here or to Chris, the item is more important than the refund. :-)
