Congrats it's a really nice catch. I was eying it but I just couldn't pull the trigger to bid on it. Was not in my budget right now.

Re: just got me a little something different :) a Dudgeon rc
well here she is. did a couple small things to the truck. first ditched the body from the auction since it was junk and added a box art style one that i had, added knock off rear wheel nuts and a andys front bumper. other than that this truck is pretty clean. dont know a whole bunch about it, didnt find many posts on this site about this conversion. i know the dudgeon name is suppose to be the first/more hard to find one??? well any info added to this whould be helpfull thanks for looking.

It predates the GT, it was grouped in with a few other conversions like the Moody and Duratrax. Kunio also made conversions for the LXT but they are quite a bit more rare. Later, when the GT came out with its own gearbox design and such, there were conversion made by A-Main (which is as I understand was what became of Dudgeon) for that truck. They have a very similar look but lack the machined trans and 1/8 scale clutch and spur that yours has.
I have a thread on my A-Main conversion here...

Btw, per Temple it seems you have a gen II, here is his post...
templeofspeed wrote:Three basic versions. The first (known only as a Dudgeon conversion) had a white top plate, slightly different gearbox housing, motor mounts that angled the motor forward. The second (the Dudgeon/A-Main) went to an upright motor mounting and the top deck was changed to black. The third (A-Main) was a conversion chassis set for the RC10GT.
This is my 1st generation, unfortunately missing the angled motor mounting...

Click the link to my garage in my sig, go to the RCCA section and look for November '92. That was the Gen I review.

hum cool read. well i guess as far as what i paid, i did very well since new back in the day the kit was $150 plus the rc10t truck needed to complete the conversion.
also said it was limited production run of the conversion. cant be too many of these conversions out their.

If you really used your search-fu, you'd have found this:

You have a late gen2 conversion, judging by the stupid screw on fuel cap... I have a NIB kit with that gem. I'll pay for a Kyosho CB-161 flip-top cap...

Wow that's a Vanning era flip top cap, wouldn't it have been the plastic Rampage style flip cap? I have two....
