Yup! Love the yellow. I bet jake would do carbon towers if you ask him nicely

Thanks, I wasn't sure if people would like it, but I think it looks good. It will really stand out racing against modern 2wd's that all have a similar look.gomachv wrote:Yup! Love the yellow. I bet jake would do carbon towers if you ask him nicely
Yeah, I'd love carbon towers to mount big bore shocks with holes to mount kyosho wing mounts. Hint, hint.

Re: Nix 91 stealth build
SLS parts were dyed by Shapeways? Do I remember right?
Parts look OK?

Yep, I ordered them in yellow. They must use the same RIT dye that I have as its a perfect match. The only problem is that I'm going to have to grind the front and rear arms for clearance reasons and will have to re-dye them.Niki wrote:SLS parts were dyed by Shapeways? Do I remember right?

Re: Nix 91 stealth build
Is it possible dye color is so deep in part it doesn't go white even you grind it?
I've seen SLS parts painted with acrylic hobby paint and will in most cases color entire part volume.
Does it make sense to offer dyed parts through Shapeways? How do you see it? Or only black and white?

Re: Nix 91 stealth build
When I ordered the parts, I thought they would print them in colored plastic. If I had of known, I would of dyed them myself as I think it cost more for the color.Niki wrote:Is it possible dye color is so deep in part it doesn't go white even you grind it?

The dye isn't that deep in the material, so I will definitely re- dye them. I may have to use black tho, as they may go too dark if dyed again in yellow.

Re: Nix 91 stealth build
How about those black bellcrank parts? Black SLS print material is available - did Shapeways use it or dye to make parts black?
...after reseaching Shapeways pages I think black is dyed also

Re: Nix 91 stealth build
It looks great, but I think if it's just dyed it would be easier to just make em all plain white. I thought the printed material was colored....well, until a week ago

Might be over the top, but they make a carbon/Kevlar weave the is black and yellow. Transmission brace? Motor guard? Might look cool with that look
