I recently bought an Ultima Pro (not XL) which is the one with a double deck graphite chassis. It is missing the battery hold downs completely. Unlike the XL and Ultima II, the lower chassis plate has cut outs for 7 cells; 3 on the right and 4 on the left. The battery hold down plastic tree, OTW-9, which is used for most other Optima's and Ultima's doesn't have the longer battery strap for the 4 cell side just two 3 cell straps. In the manual (which I have a hard copy of) it is listed in the instructions as number 139. When looking at the back of the manual at the parts list, number 139 is not listed.
Does anyone know what the Kyosho part number was for the long 4 cell battery hold down strap?
I have included pictures of the chassis and the manual. Take a close look at the manual, it clearly shows the 4 cell cut out in the chassis and labels the battery strap on the left as "BATTERY RETAINER (Long)". I think the Lazer LA-25 straps might fit, but they are not what the kit originally shipped which is not ideal.

Re: Ultima Pro (3117) Battery Strap
This is pretty strange. If you look at this manual (same kit #) it is slightly different. I believe some of the kits varied from country to country. This must be one of those variations. I'm sure you will find a longer strap somewhere. I have the same issue with a Lazer ZX I am restoring. The chassis was cutout for 4 cells on one side, so I need to find a longer strap (which is flat).

I just got in a set of LA-25 battery straps and they are a perfect fit, plus they are made of the same stuff as the chassis so it looks pretty good.
Now I just need to hunt down a set of good universal joints.

I have the same graphite 7 cell pro kit! Here is a picture of the stock battery straps! Rare bird this set-up for sure. Another variation!

Re: Ultima Pro (3117) Battery Strap
I have one of these I'm restoring as well (albeit very slowly)... anyone able to recommend a method for removing the scratches from this thing? I was thinking about a coat of matte black paint, but I want to clean up some of the scuff marks if I can find a way to do it without fouling it up.
