Quadra-symmetric RC10

Post by Niki »

1. INTRO

While designing longer arms for NIX10M, I started to think about so called quadra-symmetric suspension layout used from RC10B3 onwards.
Can it be done for tub chassis RC10 and how much tuning is needed?
Well, here it is... new long arms and new rear inner arm mounts. No other really special parts.
I wanted it to be as wide as possible within race rules.

3. BUILD

Tap and drill out all SLS part holes.

91_worlds_conversion_026.jpg
RC10 bone and shims out. B4 bone and wheel hex in. No washers under shock lower end either.
rc10_quadra_11.jpg
Five washers inside rear shock. Four might work also. No washers inside front shocks.
rc10_quadra_12.jpg
There are good amount of front towers available for 10T bulkhead but I wanted to make my own.
SLS cutting template and Dremel Workstation were used. Later I swapped both rear (NIX63772) and front tower (NIX80031) with CNC machined parts made by GoMachV.

This thread is worthless without sending me some!

Maybe sure to link them if you're going to sell cause a long arm runner would be choice!

I had been looking at doing the same thing too and also determined that the truck nose would have to be used. After thinking about things, all equal length arms would only be optimal if there was no front end kick. With front end kick, the front arms would optimally be longer. The exact length based on the level of kick. Losi got this right with the 22 (when using the 20° kick) which incidentally was also correct with the 91 Ifmar JR-XX car as well. All equal length is a big improvement over shorter front arms though so this will give you a much nicer handling car.

I was thinking of upgrading my Klein armed RC10 with these. Can I use the B4 rear axle carriers?
