Where are the T2's?
Where are the T2's?
I would like to find a RC10T2. Why do I not see very many of these for sale?

A good T2 is hard to find...and you're right, they are very rarely listed.
Two years of production, slightly longer than the B2.

Re: Where are the T2's?
Yup, with the short production run and a suspension setup similar to the 10T, most people just stuck it out with the older truck until the T3 came out so not a lot of people bought them. To me, its the most under rated rc10 off road vehicle. Keep in mind there was no buggy version with the T2 chassis.
Old school racing all the way!

Why do you say its under rated? It performs and handles great, it also had a better gear ratio than the 10T's.carloco8 wrote:Yup, with the short production run and a suspension setup similar to the 10T, most people just stuck it out with the older truck until the T3 came out so not a lot of people bought them. Re: Where are the T2's?
Exactly, but with the release of the B2 and its new composite chassis shortly after, I believe the T2 had the spot light stolen away despite having great revisions over the 10T like you stated. Then, as we all know, the T3 and B3 were released quickly with similar composite chassies and parts.RC Chick wrote:Why do you say its under rated? Yeah the only truck AE designed as a truck rather than a converted buggy. I got one when they were released going from a Schumacher Shotgun it was heaps better! I don't think i've ever raced against anyone else with one though.

Re: Where are the T2's?
Just keep an eye on Ebay, there seems to be one or two a month on there... sometimes they get mistitled as a 10t or a T3.... I've even seen a couple just as "Associated Truck" or "Remote Control Truck" so maybe just at somethig like "tub" or soemting to your search

Re: Where are the T2's?
were there different versions of the T2? std vs factory team type thing?
I had a t2 briefly, got it cheap off the bay. I stripped lots of nice hop-ups off it(titanium pins/turnbuckles, rpm parts, team shocks). I used all the parts to upgrade my dirt-oval gt runner, and put the stock ae parts back on the t2 and re-sold it. A very cost effective way to upgrade the RTR GT as the t2 seems to sell for pretty cheap.
This thread makes me feel a little guilty for doing that though.

Re: Where are the T2's?
The T2 was my first RC.
I thought it was a very good truck. I swapped the black front nose for a Blue one. It sports purple shocks, and many upgrades. I might try and run it some day, but I think it looks better on the shelf.

Re: Where are the T2's?
the t2 is my fav rc of all time for many of the reasons above. i think about the t2 all the time... how it fits into ae's history as kind of an oddball. id gladly trade some 10, 10t for more t2s in my collection if i could (hint hint) hehe. i have always wondered if ae lost any followers from the short run, then BAM the t3 is out.... i wonder this all the time...
i kind of think of the t2 as a hero-keeping the competition at bay while ae designed little brother, the t3. LMAO i like the t2 way too much. and did it ever get its ifmar? i have t2s because one day i picture myself retired, chilling at the track and busting out the t2 once in a while to race. thats like my dream. lmao.

Re: Where are the T2's?
built from a couple different chunks of spare parts, the whole front end lifted from a 10t. it also has conical washers. looks a little whacky (sorry blurry)... enjoy =]
