Live unboxing of new shipment

Post by mytimac »

We are getting a large shipment of vintage parts in from overseas in the next week or so. I mean really large, largest ever.
It is mainly Losi parts but there is RPM and Trinity parts as well. This deal was in the works since the first of the year. I don't even remember all that is coming because it has been so long since I looked at the list. But there is parts for Associated models and even Yokomo in the bunch. There is supposed to be new unopened Losi and Trinity kits. I am not looking at the list again so it will be a surprise for me again as well. I was also promised a surprise of stuff they didn't have in the list when we made the deal.

The stuff is in transit and there is 8 cartons. The lightest is around 10lbs (4.5kg) with the heaviest being around 50lbs (22.6 kg). The total weight is supposed to be 302lbs (137 kg).

We are going to attempt to do a Live Youtube stream of the unboxing. But we have to find a spot with enough room to setup tables and have good internet. Our new building for Thermoforming might be it but the internet there is not the best. Can't do it at the shop because there just isn't enough room there. So we shall see soon. Might do a little test live stream before the official one.

So you can watch here for the latest info when we will stream. I would also assume that if you are subscribed to us on Youtube you will get a notification of a live feed happening. We will shoot for evening time during the work week I think. Our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNtNk9bfi8A

Ok, did 3 test streams tonight.
Second one was disaster. Had some upload speed issues. Got the 3rd one better by lowering the video quality level so the speed didn't need to be as high.

The plan is for tomorrow (Thursday) to stream the opening at 8PM Central time. So 6pm West Coast. There will be some give aways for people watching. Not sure how big of crowd we will get. Probably not real big turnout.

Channel link if you wish to watch tonights test coverage. Might be mildly amusing once you skip to the actual content.

We will also record on a good camera for a better quality capture and then edit that footage for youtube later.

Just to set expectations correctly, there is no Team Associated brand parts, just parts for Team Associated models.

The video link still works if you want to watch the feed last night. It is over 2 hours. The first 20 minutes is just stills as we got things setup before the 8pm start.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfgDhrCmWiY

A3000 parts 21:00 minutes
A4000 parts 44:30 minutes
A2000 parts 58:00 minutes
A5000 Parts quick look 1:13:43 (didn't go through)
More a3000 1:14:10 (didn't go through much)
A7000 quick look 1:16:00
Kit boxes 1:28:00 (looked at abut half)
A8000 (bodies)First box 1:39:00
More kit boxes 1:44:00
RPM Parts 1:48:00 (parts for multiple brands)
Trinity parts 2:10:00 (mostly pan car parts to start with)
More rpm 2:39:00 parts that got lost during first round
More bodies 2:39:30

Think will try to do more Losi parts, A1000, A9000 and others on Sunday. Probably have more prizes as well. It got late last night quick and I didn't feel well towards the end.

Yup...as I was watching all the purple anodized Trinity gear, I was thinking a certain member whose initials are J.O.E.Y. would really be digging that....

I hope to get Losi stuff processed this week because most is already entered in system from previous inventory and is just a matter of updating quantity.

Most of Trinity and about 70% of RPM is not in the system. So those have to be imported with product info into the system. Then of course product photos. So I imagine it will be getting into next week or later before we get it all into system.

Sorry it isn't quicker. There is just so much stuff.

We did realize we are missing chassis part numbers. I realized Friday morning that I didn't see a single chassis in any of the boxes. So I think they had been organized like us. The big chassis parts are kept in a different area because they take up so much room. I think they just forgot to grab them when they shipped everything. Hopefully we hear back on Monday to confirm they accidentally forgot to ship them. There is always chance they came out in shipping, but I think that one of the boxes would have been pretty empty if they had all fallen out.

Well I screwed up big time on this one. :? I missed an email from the seller that revised the parts list. There is no chassis parts apparently. None of the chassis parts, along with some stickers, turned up when they went to box up the parts.

I am mad at myself for not realizing that at the time. They had just sent a total for everything with shipping and I missed the mention of revised parts list. Sending the price with shipping I guess I just assumed everything they claimed originally was actually in stock. Very important lesson learned. Read my emails better and probably not on a phone so I see the attachments.

Got my parts, thanks for the fast service! Those Spring clamps will come in handy, so many broken old style clamps on restorations need to be replaced.
