Been wanting to build one of these for a while now. Meeting with Jason & Joe at our local track a few weeks back and seeing their nice builds running , it inspired me to finally get going on this. I'm trying to keep costs down so will be lot's of used bits and pieces. Chassis is a one that has plenty of extra holes and scratches but straight. I took about 3/16 off the sides. I didn't have a used 10T nose plate so I cut one from a buggy plate. Out back I'm using Jakes arms with RPM worlds mounts, RPM rear bulkhead, RPM copy rear tower(may change this out), V2 shocks with Avid 12mm spring adapters( Might be changing these to big bores), B4 hubs and B4 cvds. So far so good with it all working together.
Out front I'm going with a B2 shock tower, homegrown cross brace as well as a camber link mount I cut from a old graphite chassis. Using .89 shocks with the avid 12mm spring adapters but like the rears, I may go to big bores that I'll rob from a B4.2 scrapper I have. Other parts are B4.2 blocks/axles with jconcepts hexes. This is where I'm at so far.

Looks great Ed! Loving the flipped front end. Nice combo on the rear.

Interesting idea for the camber mount, simple but effective

Spring's just around the corner so it's time to get those runners ready. Of course, I guess indoors it's always spring...

Looks like a great start!

Progress...
It looks like the Jersey track will be tied up with Sunday races for about the next month. So, you have until March 18th to get her finished.
Happy birthday by the way!
Edit: I was wrong. The Jersey track is free tomorrow, so hurry up and get it built.

Thanks!! Should be plenty of time to get this running and make some possible changes. I'm torn between mounting the nose in the buggy or truck position but I don't have a 10T steering bellcrank. Well I have the plastic and screw set but not the spring/nut/shaft. I get it with the longer wheelbase but what's everyone's opinion on running long or short on these? Advantages disadvantages?

LWB with buggy bellcranks gives you a F'ed up steering geometry... you need to tap the front holes if you're gonna do that, in which case it's ok.
The flipped front end idea is fantastic!!!

Good to know. Thanks. I'll stick with the short wb for now. I have a nice MIP bellcrank to use.

These tracks we run on are short. Short wheelbase is probably better.

Getting some more done on this. Added a mip bellcrank. Need to drill new holes for the nose tubes. Changed the rear tower back to a standard tower for now and will see how it handles with that. Will probably add a inner hole on the tower and move to there as the shock angle seems a bit off. I Used two rpm battery boxes for the shorty pack and cut a new brace for the one to accept the wires. Currently wiring up the esc and will be shopping for a steering servo unless I go analog as that's all I have at the moment. Getting there.

Finished this up. Took it out last Sunday to test it out and it ran well for first time out with it. Got attacked by the rental short course trucks but was fun. Will need to adjust the gearing and get different tires but other than that I'm happy with the outcome.

looks good Ed, rear traction/tires is my biggest problem. I have to pick up some Primes next time I'm at Critters.
