Hi all! I'm new to the group, but not to RC. I recently purchased a Losi JRX-2 and will be planning on trying to find some vintage races to attend. I already have an RC10 for my 2wd class and an original Avante for 4wd. Haven't been able to find any real Vintage races locally but will continue my search.

How do people mount these chassis splash guards and what are they made from? Is it cut out from the sides of another JRX2 body?

And also, how are these bump guards installed? Are they supposed to be mounted to the underside of the chassis or on top and then shave down the forward mount for the side bulkheads and battery hold down?

The "splash guards" are an actual part made specifically for the Jrx-T and will also fit the Jrx-Pro flat graphite chassis. They are lexan and are typically mounted with double sided tape. You can get reproductions from www.sabulatech.com. The nerf wings shouldn't require any modifications. IIRC, they are typically mounted on top of the chassis using the battery box and 5 link mount holes.

Ok, thank you. I still wonder about the Nerf guard mounting because it only uses the forward mounting holes for the side bulkhead mounts for the 5 link suspension. I feel like I will have to shave down the forward tab on the bulkhead itself so that it will sit flat on the chassis?

I didn't really think of it, but when I used these nerf wings BITD I wasn't using the 5 link rear suspension. So they simply bolted on. I suppose you could shave a little off the front of the 5 link mount or add a spacer under the rear.

Ok, that's what I was thinking too. Thanks for the input. I'll post pics of the build when I start it 😉

Ok, I just ordered the last of the gear for the JRX2 build. I will begin stripping it down for cleanup and will be posting pictures on a regular basis. Will be working on it after work in the afternoons 😊 So excited for this!!! 😊

Will be starting this restoration soon. Just waiting on a few more bits to come on through the mail. Really looking forward to this! Fitted body and Nerf Guards a couple days ago.
