Factory Works Composite Craft Worlds Cheater RC10T build
I couldn't pass up one of these new Factory Works chassis kits. It is very similar to the ultra rare vintage Composite Craft Worlds RC10T chassis, however it uses the stock aluminum front end. The material finish is very similar to the original, and the fit & finish of the chassis kit is excellent.
Below you can see the new chassis next to the original. Once the aluminum front plate is bolted on, the dimensions are the same.
I also built up my first Factory Works Lethal Weapon transmission. I am very impressed by the quality, but more importantly the silky smooth action of this transmission is unrivaled. The differential is easily the smoothest I have ever built. The machined aluminum outdrives and motor plate are pieces of art. A Factory Works steering kit will get thrown on as well.
More to come as things progress.

just something different. it mimics the composite craft style chassis which is a really sweet design. the composite craft chassis is carbon fiber with a built in kickup. this is a more cost effective and available option.

Re: Factory Works Composite Craft Worlds Cheater RC10T build
Some progress. It sure looks like a real vintage Composite Craft Worlds chassis at first glance. Still have a lot of detail work to complete.
I must say it hasn't gone together super smooth. I spent a lot of time having to tweak, file, cut, add, and reassemble to get everything together how I wanted it. Nothing difficult, and probably mostly because I am more picky than most. Everything is together just as I want it now.
I dyed the yellow A&L steering arms black. I was tempted to dye all the white parts a crazy early 90's color like pink or purple, but chickened out. I still think that would look cool though...

Re: Factory Works Composite Craft Worlds Cheater RC10T build
^ Thanks! I just missed out on a cool set of black vintage HPI wheels on ebay, but I will dig through my stash and see what I can find.
I added some shocks so its officially a slider I guess. I have a RPM rear guard that I think I am going to gringo up a little before I install it.

I did a little customizing to the RPM rear guard, and then mounted it up.

Re: Factory Works Composite Craft Worlds Cheater RC10T build
I missed out on these (below)
However I found a real cool set of vintage PSE wheels that should fit better with this truck.

Re: Factory Works Composite Craft Worlds Cheater RC10T build
Personally I would use vintage black ano AE or MIP shocks. If you were doing a full on modern build those threaded shocks would be ideal.

Re: Factory Works Composite Craft Worlds Cheater RC10T build
I tossed on the Kashima/Jconcepts shocks and I like how they look. I don't know if I will keep them on.
I really like these PSE wheels. They are super light and I love the look. This truck is a mish mash of parts with no real theme or direction.
