Close call

Post by limestang »

On Sept 25 a pickup truck pulling a trailer ran two redlights and t-boned my 2016 Mustang. The force was so great I was pushed over 40ft into a traffic light, concrete median and two more pickup trucks. When I thought it was over, the original truck rolled, and the trailer swung around and landed on the trunk of my car. The officer at the scene told me if the truck had hit a few feet back, we wouldn’t be talking. I’m very thankful. I was fortunate to have walked away, But have whiplash and concussion issues.

I’ll add photos once I can shrink the size.

Glad to see you survived it! I've had a couple really bad ones myself thru no fault of my own and you definitely don't forget how the impact feels! Be thankful!

 Omg! As already stated many times, I'm glad to hear that you are ok. Sorry about the car, though. Can we expect a new Mustang build thread soon? I'm very curious to know what the truck driver's excuse was...

The best I can tell from the police report is the driver ran the first light, and did not realize or didn’t care their was a second light as he raced thru the overpass. He was flying, all I saw was a flash out of my peripheral vision. The impact was indescribable and surreal. I credit the safety features on the Mustang for saving my life. Next week I get more dental work and physical therapy for my neck. The concussion will take longer to heal.

On a happier note, I purchased the used 2018 Mustang shown below from Carmax. It’s an ecoboost with manual trans. The insurance coverage was ok, but I have a loan again. Fingers crossed driving it :D

Holy Crap! I saw a video online last night that described the exact same details. That could have been so much worse.

Glad you are still kicking, get some rest and heal up.
