Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
As with the rears, the front arms and outer components (uprights, knuckles) are the same as the Turbo Optima's.Carknowledge101 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:54 pm Would the front arms fit or are they completely different?

Build update!
I went with the runner idea and it know has a brushless setup, Kyosho Mad Bug white wheels with tires, and a Proline sumo Body with a custom made truck conversion. Not sure on the body paint yet. I’m thinking of the same green that is on the old body.

Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
I noticed that one of the wheels was really wobbly and it turns out it was missing both bearings(youd think I would have noticed). The online manual says 5x10 mm bearings on all versions of Kyosho Optima that I could find. The bearings in the other side look like they are around 6mm, not 10. Anyone know why their not 5x10s and what car those axle carriers came off of?

Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
I know what the manuals say, but those do not fit my truck. I even tried 5x8 and they were still to big! I think they might be 5x6x4...

Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
pics would help...going by your pics on the first page you have standard kyosho knuckles and those use 5x10 bearings. 5x6mm bearing doesnt exist

Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
I'm thinking, forget what the manuals say. Measure the bearings that are in the wheels that aren't wobbly, and you'll know what bearings to buy to match them. Maybe I'm missing something here.

Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
Your right. What I’m trying to figure out is if the Traxxas bearing are 5x10s then how are they too big? All the manuals says 5x10, but they don’t fit.Coelacanth wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 5:05 pm I'm thinking, forget what the manuals say. Maybe I have an EARLY Optima, or maybe a special edition that they only made 10 of or something...

Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
Do you have a caliper? With bearings, a ruler probably won't be precise enough to help you determine the measurements. Measure the bearings in question with a caliper and see if they're the same or not. One thing that comes to mind is the bearings might not be Metric, but Standard...Standard-size bearings could be very close to the same specs as Metric, but would be off by just enough to frustrate you.

Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
Traxxas uses 5x8 and 5x11. You are chasing unicorns- trust us...its just a horse
Also, I think I have said this before but just in case- I am in Troutdale just off the freeway. If you need something Optima I probably have it, and I definitely have the right bearings. Just message me

Your ball bearings might have split, and You´re only noticing the inner race.

Re: Kyosho Optima Mid Shed Find
I found the right bearings. I will be putting this beauty up for sale soon so keep on the lookout.
And it is back to brushed for selling. It fully runs and drives. I really wish I didn't have to sell it but I need cash for other projects
