Here is a new built « Cadillac » RC10 I have been aiming to finish recently. Still need to work on electronics. Pro-Line Champion rear tires, 7 ribbed fronts and ProLine wheel covers. All credits for the body goes to Ultrahive.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - June 2020 ** - Winner - Lavigna
This is a project I've been working on for a long while - I bought the body back in 2011, and completed the paint job in 2015, but I've only just mated it to a chassis.
As can be seen from this TamiyaClub link (https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=125501), the paint job is quite involved, with the only coloured section that is a decal being the red on the nose and the sides.... the White, Cobalt Green and Gunmetal paintwork are all a product of Tamiya rattle cans, masking, remasking and swearing.
The chassis itself is a Tamiya MF-01X, which is a Mini-size 4wd chassis much like a shortened and narrowed Tamiya TL-01. To the basic chassis, I have added a massive amount of hopups, including:
- full bearings
- alloy threaded oil shocks
- front universals
- turnbuckle steering links
- aftermarket alloy motor plate and gear cover
- carbon and foam front bumper
- alloy rear body mount stabiliser
- wide foam slick tyres all round
The car has been set up with a 12.5T brushless rig, HPI 2.4G receiver and Futaba S3003 servo, and will be tested very soon... but I thought I'd get photos of it before I get it dirty!

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - June 2020 ** - Winner - Lavigna
Ok, this is my restored Tamiya Astute. The Astute was my first real RC car. This is not the same car as I had as a kid, I grabbed this off eBay and restored it with new parts wherever I could.
My RC backstory is my 2 best friends had an RC10 and a Jrx-2. We didn't live near attack so we would race on the street and down dirt driveways. My Astute had a Revtech engine and the MSC with that rubber balloon type dust cover. I could beat them on the straight away but as soon as we tried to turn they toasted me and I would never catch up. At the time I never understood why and just thought I was a bad driver but man I loved that car. I eventually ended up meeting the dust cover running the car too hot and had to upgrade to a Tekin ESC
After getting tired of losing I saved enough for a JrxT but I had to reuse the motor and ESC and I had the bright idea of taking the Astute apart and putting it away. I didn't save manual so putting it back together seemed impossible and I gave the box of parts to my cousin to see what he could do with it.
A few years later I discovered girls and the hobby faded away. I picked it back up in 2007 when I bought a house and tore up the back yard putting in a new septic system and though wow this would be fun for an RC car. I dig out the old truck but the LHS guy sold me on a Blackfoot but I never got past the love of the vintage stuff and I have been around the forums since then.

Some beauties again, that Avante is killer, but I’m in a rally mood at the moment

Great cars all,
Hard to choose between the Jrx2 and Avante for me, so I rolled back my mind to the late 80s and the choice was easy. "Jrx2"
Cheers
