losi mini t brushless powdery slipper pads
Hello! First time poster here. I co own a hobby shop and we've just started selling and fixing r.c. stuff. I had a customer buy a brand new mini t brushless, and after the first run his back left tire stopped turning and the back right tire turned at about half speed. Upon opening it up, I found blue powder all over the inside where the spur gear and pinion are housed. My questions are these: how does this happen, how do I avoid it next time, has anyone experienced this as a defect, and is it as simple as replacing the slipper pads to fix it?

Unable to view pics and I will never go out of my way for anything photosuckit related after they destroyed our forum here.
That said, if one wheel is froze up and the other barely turning, the slipper disc was the result but not the cause. Need to determine what locked up the one side first. A bearing went bad, something caught in it etc. That locking up is what would have lead to the pad getting wore down.

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Mine started doing weird stuff like that on the second battery through it and the dynamite motor with internal esc started smoking and burned up.

Re: losi mini t brushless powdery slipper pads
Oh man I can just attach photos!? I'm so sorry. I'm new to this. I feel real dumb too cause I took the time to re open my photobucket account for this AND forgot to set it to not private lol. Sorry guys =/
I have attached the photos. Since posting it seems that the housing is enclosed versus what the replacement packaging says. This is the replacement part http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdID=LOS211016 part number LOS211016. The stock housing doesn't have the hole on the end so it doesn't need the plug. I wonder though if the slipper pads would have survived the first run if that piece was included? I bought a replacement, no plug. *shrug*. I have no replaced the slipper pad and spur gear (they come as a package so why not) and we'll see.

Re: losi mini t brushless powdery slipper pads
Alright, I'll let my customer know. He said he and his friends used it, but he was watching everyone like a hawk and nothing weird happened. Maybe one of his friends messed it up and hid it well like a jerk =pGoMachV wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 9:07 pm Unable to view pics and I will never go out of my way for anything photosuckit related after they destroyed our forum here.

Re: losi mini t brushless powdery slipper pads
I didn't! I just read on some other forums that others were having the same issue. The esc mounted inside the motor seems like a real bad design.pedrolucero wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 1:27 amwhoa your motor burned up? Did you ever figure out why?

The engine is dynamite yeah? I've had some bad luck with dynamite products. They are like the faygo of rc stuff right? Not even like a middle of the road brand?

Dynamite is one of the old Horizon brands, from before they bought up half of the RC world.pedrolucero wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 1:34 am The engine is dynamite yeah? I've had some bad luck with dynamite products. They are like the faygo of rc stuff right? Not even like a middle of the road brand?
I've never noticed any higher failure rates than that of other similar products.

Re: losi mini t brushless powdery slipper pads
I think I've widdled down the issues to one thing: the differential inside has too much play. The gears get kinda loose making 1 tire spin at full speed and the other only partially. I've been recommended to regrease? I don't see that will help but at this point, I think about how I can't fix this everyday and it's starting to make me sad inside my heart =p
