Managed to grab this XXX-NT AD2 on eBay recently. It was complete except for the front chassis brace. The engine is an OS Max 12 TZ. Here are some pictures of what it looked like when it arrived.
Ready for reassembly after a good cleaning.
Now we just need a power plant.
The engine seemed fine. Internals looked great. Just needed a thorough cleaning. I understand this Max 12TZ was a terrific engine in its day.
I was able to get a shell from a T5M to fit after making some small body post adapters. This truck is incredibly fast. It is a terrific machine.
It is definitely a racer's machine.

Re: XXX-NT AD2 eBay find
Does anyone know of any modern axle conversion methods for the AD2? I've found some that use the XXX-SCT parts but those are hard to find now as well. I'm just beginning my research now but figured I'd post here to see if anyone has ideas or has had recent success converting to front and rear hexs. Thanks!kzeppelin2 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 2:53 am Managed to grab this XXX-NT AD2 on eBay recently. It was complete except for the front chassis brace. The engine is an OS Max 12 TZ. Re: XXX-NT AD2 eBay find
rear is simple if it's pindrive, you just get some hexes. The front is the hard part but I devised a simple solution, adapters that fit in the JConcepts Mono 12mm hex wheels and make it so you can fit bearings into the wheels. It's over on Thingiverse (thing:5479821 just add this to the end of the URL, I can't post links yet.) if you have access to a 3d printer.kzeppelin2 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 11:00 pm Does anyone know of any modern axle conversion methods for the AD2? I use these on my electric converted XXX-NT

Another option might be to fit parts from the 22T to the truck but I haven't had a 22T around to take measurements from.
Or just run the RC10T wheels from JConcepts, offset isn't quite right but they'll still work.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Thanks for sharing the info on the wheel adapters. I may give them a shot. Link below for convenience.RogueIV wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 2:45 amrear is simple if it's pindrive, you just get some hexes.
