In 1998, Team Associated replaced the RC10L2 1/10th scale pan car with the RC10L3. The L3O oval variant received a new carbon fiber chassis with extensive lightening in the battery cutout area and additional holes for both front wheelbase changes and rear pod offset. The front retained Associated's Dynamic Strut suspension with the addition of titanium steering turnbuckles while the rear pod top and bottom plates were updated to fit Associated's VCS suspension with three oil filled aluminum bodied coil over shocks. The motor plate, bulkhead and graphite rear axle carried over from the L2O though the latter now supported lighter aluminum hubs for the ball differential direct drive transmission. New lighter Pro-Line/Jaco wheels with green compound foam tires were included but electronics and body were not. Released at the same time was the RC10L3 Touring car. Previously the Road car, the Touring model was available in Sport and Team configurations. Sport models received a fiberglass chassis, the L2's adjustable T-bar rear suspension, Sport specific top and bottom pod plates, composite rear axle, L2 wheels with foam tires and bushings throughout while the Team featured a carbon fiber chassis, VCS rear suspension with Team specific top and bottom plates, graphite rear axle, new lighter Pro-Line/Jaco wheels/foam tires and bearings throughout. Both were equipped with Associated's Dynamic Strut front suspension though neither was supplied with a body or electronics:
Factoid... the instructions of the RC103LO was the first manual to include component listings for Associated's newly branded Factory Team line of hop up parts.

Re: Team Associated RC10L3O Ad
I am liking the "not really Mark Martin's #6 Valvoline Taurus, but yes it is obviously Mark Martin's #6 Valvoline Taurus" paint scheme
