Kyosho Beetle 2014 - HG Shocks

I'm considering adding the Beetle to the build queue and noticed Kyosho offers the HG shocks as an upgrade. I see it requires a larger/longer front/rear shock tower, so I was curious if the body needs trimming when running the HG shocks/larger towers. If anyone runs that combo, I'd be interested to know if you had to trim the pre-cut Beetle body to make it work. Thanks!

Unless they are extremely long or the tower moves the shocks outward, it shouldn't be a problem.

On my Beetle, the spring collar is the only thing remotely close to the body. If I rotated the clamp screw 90°, it would have even more room.

That's a good sign. I'd be just as happy running the factory shocks (assuming they're not prone to leaking, etc.), but I wouldn't mind trying the HG setup. Thanks!

I have HG shocks on my Beetle. Here's my thread back when I built it:

Thanks. It looks like trimming is necessary if running those shocks. I was hoping to leave the pre-cut body alone. Thanks for confirming that for me.
