Kyosho Inferno DX

Post by Dangeruss »

In 1992 Kyosho released the Inferno DX as an entry level version of their 1/8 4wd nitro powered Inferno buggy. In the same vein as the Burns DX, the Inferno DX stripped away the most expensive parts and replaced them with more economically price components. The aluminum pan chassis with its one-piece aluminum radio tray and glass reinforced nylon construction were retained, as was the four-wheel independent double a-arm suspension with adjustable camber and twin bellcrank, spring loaded servo saver equipped, steering system that tugged on adjustable tie rods. Revised aluminum shock towers however supported nylon bodied, oil-filled, coilover shocks. Twin plastic disk brakes attempted to reign in the power from the pinion and spur primary/ shaft driven 4wd system that featured lighter aluminum bevel gear diffs front, rear, and center as dog bones at each corner bridged the gap past the aluminum front knuckles and plastic rear carriers to one-piece five spoke nylon wheels sporting a set of BSW-40 mini pin tires. A screw top gas tank, bushings, redesigned front bumper and new clear lexan body and wing were included in the partially assembled kit, which was sold less motor, muffler, starter, and radio:
