Introduction along with my RC10T

Post by jeffrm20 »

Hey all, just joined, I have been into R/C's for a while but was out of it for the past couple years and finally got back into the sport. I picked up two RC10's this past week. A gold pan and a RC10T. I got the RC10T running, but it's far off from where it will be. It needs some new parts (dogbones, shocks, tires etc) It currently has an old school Novak 410-MXC speed control on a Trinity Modified motor. I hope to someday make it bulletproof enough to run a brushless system. But in the meantime I will start upgrading misc parts (shock towers, arms, turnbuckles). It does have one upgrade that it had when I bought it. It has the aluminum steering knuckles (not sure of the exact name, you can see them in the pictures) But the one arm that the servo connects to, the bushing/bearing must be worn because it has play, but wont tighten down. So, not sure if I can replace the bushings/bearings in them or just buy a new set. I will have to get my calipers out to make sure the aluminum arms arent worn too much. But there is just something that I love about these old trucks. See you guys around on the forum.

Jeff

welcome aboard Jeff! I'm sure you'll find everything you ever wanted to know about vintage associated cars right on this very forum! Nice truck you have there, although it looks to be a truck conversion rather than an rc10T. However you do have some cool parts on there! Looks to be some early Losi (I'm sure somone will correct me here) bellcranks which are pretty sought after, and I'm not sure what chassis that is but I'm sure somone will chime in shed some light on it. Lets see some pics of the gold tub!!!

welcome aboard mate! Your chassis is Andy's, you have some nice Tecnacraft turnbuckles, Losi bellcranks, a JG front shock tower and Losi shocks at the rear, looks more like a truck conversion than a 10T. Very nice, some parts are missing (tranny brace), but it looks like you have a pretty good basis to work on :D

Correct it is a Andys chassis. The rear shocks are off a TMAXX but I put the old gold shock back on. The TMAXX shocks limited out the arms making the dogbones rub the arms. Here are some more pics I took today.
