Nice Bolink collection Reign! I have a bit of an affection for old Bolinks myself. I was a Bolink 1/12 team driver for a while back in '84 and '85. Bolink owner Bob Rule (Mr. Yo-yo on the Smother's Brothers Show) was a really nice and helpful guy. I've been picking up old Bolink 1/12 cars as I find them. Here are some of them, none of these have been restored so far.

....None of these were in my garage

What's the deal with yo-yos and RC? Losi once made a ball bearing yo-yo.

Should I get some, will they help my RC driving??? Are old school yo-yos better???

Yes, I've been getting bits and pieces from Steve R. since he opened his first ebay store. Bob Rule was selling some R/C stuff on ebay a while back too. I got a couple of the very old (pre-Jerobee) Bolink Mach 12 kits from him. His ebay I.D. is bobrule. His contact info is on his "about me page" I'm sure he could answer a few of your Bolink questions. As for me, I'll talk R/C anytime :) .

Question about the Eliminator front end. I used to adjust the front end of my GTP bodied Bolink to good effect especially to prevent coning of the front tires but i never understood the benefit of the cross brace that tied the top of the steering pins together. Doesn't the brace prevent camber adjustment because the distance between the top of each pin would need to decrease when adding negative camber.

By the way. the answer to "Where are all the Bolinks?" is simple. The cars never had the performance rep of AE, Yokomo, or Corally so people generally don't honor the breed with careful restorations and internet chat. I ran my Eliminator 10 specifically because my fellow club racers didn't take it seriously as a competitor to the RC10L. Well, the shocks DID suck, but I liked running an underdog chassis.

The upper brace was for deflection on the vertlical kingpins sense the front is not really camber adjustable just caster. And i do say upon close review of vintage mags and standings bolink competed and beat the competition quit a bit like there LTOss/

IMO, Bolink's philosophy was to make virtually maintenance free , simple design cars that were fun, economical and easy to set up. Their design's didn't constantly change so that parts were always easily available. Although I do recall Bolink cars in many "A" mains, I also remember some of their advertising literature stating that " This car isn't ment to be an A-main car for a pro driver" They knew their market and sold alot of cars. Afterall, the vast majority of people that buy R/C cars don't even participate in organized racing.
